Obituary: Christine Brinson Futrell, 92, of Richlands passed away on , 2, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Leon Futrell , her brother, Linwood Brinson, Sr. and her grandson and his wife, Jimmy and Judy Futrell. Christine is survived by two sons, Ronnie O'Neal Futrell and Willis Foy Futrell and wife, Shirley of Richlands; two daughters, Ella Vee Lumley and husband Willard and Claudia "Christy" Marshburn and husband Keith, also of Richlands; and six grandchildren, William Futrell, Anthony Futrell, Neal Futrell, Lindsay Howell, Amber Lumley, and McKay Marshburn. She was a longtime member of New Covenant Church, where she taught school for 50 years. She was a homemaker and caretaker and will be most remembered for her unselfish giving to those in need within her church and her community. She was best described as "A Mother to all". The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on , 5 at Johnson , Richlands. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. officiated by Rev. Obituary: Charles Lewis Futrell, Sr. 71 of Zebulon was born 16, 1945 as the second son to Floyd and Neta Futrell in Jackson, North Carolina. Charles passed away at Transitions Life Hospice on , 19, 2017 in Raleigh, North Carolina. In of 1963, he enlisted in the Navy and was honorably discharged in of 1964. He married Barbara Ann Miller in North Hampton , North Carolina on 11, 1966. He was formerly employed by Wake Public Schools, Stones Southern School Supply, and Sirtage Incorporated. Charles enjoyed long walks in the woods, bowling, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Charles is survived by his wife Barbara, his three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Lewis Futrell Jr. and Cheryl Lynn Futrell (Pollen) of Greensboro, NC, Warren Brian Futrell and Lesley Jean Futrell (Abernethy) of Raleigh, NC, and Richard Odell Futrell and Colleen Michelle Futrell (Pearson) of Burnsville, NC. Charles is also the beloved grandfather to five grandchildren, Katherine Katy and Alexander AJ of Burnsville and Thomas, Divinity Dee, and David of Greensboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Walter Floyd Futrell Jr., and his sister-in-law, Brenda Williams Futrell. A memorial service honoring Charles life will be held , 24th at 1 p.m. at Brown-Wynne on Millbrook Road in Raleigh, NC. Following the service, a reception will follow at a private residence. She retired from working at AMF/Fairlanes Bowling Alley after decades of service. Barbara enjoyed crafting, genealogy, taking photos, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Obituary: My husband of 35 years, Archie Wayland Futrell, Jr., passed away on 21, 2010, at the age of 86, in the loving care of the staff at the Rosewood located in the Cypress of Raleigh Retirement Community. We are planning a graveside service at the Chapel of Memories at Montlawn on , 23 at 2:00 PM. The family will be receiving friends at the Cypress Club House following the service from 4:00 - 5:30 PM. A native of Nashville, NC, he is the son of Archie W. Futrell and Julia Bryan Futrell. He proudly served in the 8th Army Air Corps in the European Theater during World War II. Following his honorable discharge, Archie received his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from NC State , and returned to his alma mater as a professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department from 1956 to 1962. He then began a distinguished career with Carolina Power & Light that lasted until 1981, and continued his association with CP&L as a consultant following his retirement. Archie especially enjoyed spending time with his many friends at White Memorial Presbyterian Church, the society of Professional Engineers of North Carolina, and the Cypress of Raleigh Retirement Community. Archie and his wife, Jane Roberts Futrell, have a combined family of six children: Julie Gaddy (Phil), Archie Futrell III (Betty), Elizabeth Lambert (Michael), John "Chuck" Rogers, Michael Rogers ( y) and Rob Rogers (Genia), as well as 14 grandchildren.
