Obituary: John (Jack) Albert Fahrman, Sr. passed away 12, 2011 at home in Raleigh, NC. John was born in Baltimore, Maryland, 3, 1926 to Anna V. Fahrman and William F. Fahrman, Sr. He graduated from Loyola High School and Loyola in Baltimore, Maryland. He was in the Army Air Corp in WW II. John worked for 1st National Bank of Baltimore and also, Legg- Mason in Baltimore and in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was the past president of the Lake Shore Rotary Club, and of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Maryland. John, previously of Long Point, Pasadena, Maryland, and then, Appomattox, Virginia, lived in Raleigh, NC, for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William F. Fahrman, Jr; sister, Alice Fahrman Sargent; granddaughter, Julie Christine Fahrman; and his wife of 61 years, Lucy Marea Franklin Fahrman. He is survived by his two sons, John (Jay) Fahrman & James (Jim) Fahrman and his wife, Ann ; three daughters, Anne Corey and her husband, Daniel; Sue Bathgate; and Margaret (Beth) Pressley and her husband, Thomas; Nine grandchildren, Jennifer Fahrman Tronzo; Melissa Corey Haddad and her husband, Taurik; Robert Fahrman and his wife, Jessica; Michelle Corey Brown and her husband, Daniel; Jessica Fahrman, Gretchen Pressley, Shawn Corey, Benjamin Fahrman and Thomas Pressley. He is also survived by five great grandchildren, Devyn Tronzo, Maria Haddad, Anthony Tronzo, Laith Haddad and Zaid Jonathan Haddad. Obituary: Frank Laurence Fahringer, 73, of New Bern passed away at home on , May 12th, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Carol Jean Kleiner Fahringer, and his two daughters, Laura Leach (husband Brad) of Venus, TX and Lynda McGuire (husband Tommy) of Chico, TX. Grandsons, Vince Lessing, Christian and Ryan Leach and great grand-daughter Kenley Lessing all of TX. He is also survived by his brothers, Larry Fahringer (wife Nancy), Bob Fahringer (wife Pam), as well as several nieces and nephews. Frank was born in New Jersey on 6th, 1943 to Laurence Fahringer and Gloria Piperata Fahringer. Frank learned to play the accordion at a young age, and played professionally during and after college. He took acting classes in high school and even played some lead parts. Frank worked in advertising with a few radio stations in Delaware and Cincinnati. He went on to become the Regional Advertising Manager for Coors, which moved him to Texas. retirement, he moved to North Carolina where Frank became involved in art classes. He worked with mediums including colored pencils and water colors. His best talent was in stained glass. This became his part-time occupation and his work was amazing. He was loved and respected by many, and was always the rock of the family. The funeral mass will be held , May 18th, at 1pm at St. Paul's Catholic Church. 3005 Country Club Road, New Bern, NC 28562. Obituary: Barbara Fahlikman was born as an only child in Brooklyn, New York on 28th, 1944. She was named after her grandfather Bernard. She grew up in a loving and active community. Children could always be found playing outside enjoying life. Barbara shared fond memories of playing jump rope, watching movies, and listening to music with friends. Barbara would often walk with her best friend Leslie along the popular Kings Highway. This area was hopping with bright lights, shops, restaurants, and movie theaters. Barbara attended Public School 255. She excelled in writing and also played the viola in her teenage years. She was very talented. Barbara was accepted to the University of Illinois in 1962. Although she had only been away from her family once before at sleep-away camp, she packed her bags and headed off. She attended college for one year. Following college, she took a job with American International Underwriters earning 69 dollars a week. She was proud of this accomplishment although she had dreams of finishing college. She was very close to her grandparents on her mothers side, Rose and Lewis Leskin, who she saw every weekend. would ride to Long Island and get ice cream in Lynbrook and go bargain shopping. While she, her mother, and grandmother shopped at different stores for the best deals, her grandfather would wait in the car so that they didn have to put money in the meter. wards, they would return home to enjoy chicken sandwiches. One of Barbaras fondest memories occurred every summer; Barbara and her parents would go with her grandparents to the Catskill Mountains. Route 17 was the only passage through the mountains since the Catskills were a popular vacation spot. Traffic would often be backed up for miles. would have to wait for 8 to 10 hours with their two pet parakeets sitting on their laps. Along the way, they would always stop at the Red Apple Rest for food and a break before continuing the drive. In the Catskills, Barbara would swim and go to a teenage camp. She and the other kids would watch movies, play pinball for a nickel, and eat pizza, candy, and popcorn. A dance competition called Champagne Hour was held in the evenings. Her parents were excellent dancers and would often win. Barbara loved this time with her family. Barbaras grandfather eventually passed away at the age of 92, and her grandmother passed just four weeks later. Family said she died of a broken heart. had been married for 67 years. Barbaras mother Mae and father Samuel (Si) were both great parents. Her mother was very beautiful and always made sure she was looking her best from head to toe. Both of her parents loved dancing, so it was only appropriate that they fell madly in love when they first met at a dance. The two were married in 1940. Mae was more than a mother to Barbara; she was also a very dear friend. She was a caring and loving person who always had nice things to say. When Barbaras children were young, the family was very tight with money and never had the luxury of taking vacations, but Mae took the children to Disney World all by herself. Barbara and Mae spent a lot of time together and saw each other every week. In Maes later years, they often went to Atlantic City to gamble, although Mae hated losing money and would play the machines a nickel at a time. Barbara wished she would have been around when the penny slots were created. would have been able to play for days. Ten years after Barbaras father passed away, Mae met Sammy. enjoyed travelling together and going on cruises. Sammy outlived Mae, who passed away at the age of 89. Barbaras father Si was born in Poland. He was a hardworking man who put himself through City to become an accountant by selling jelly apples on the street. While Barbara and her mother lived in the country during the summers, her father would work for 10 hours a day. On the weekends, he would come up to the country spend time with Barbara. In 1948, a blizzard hit Ocean Avenue where they lived; leaving 30 inches of snow. Barbara remembers the enormous avenue with 4 lanes of parking being shut down and sledding down the road with her father. Although Barbara was an only child, she was close with her two older cousins on her fathers side, Charlotte and Richard, who lived close by. Charlotte was 8 years older and would take Barbara out to Coney Island. Charlotte later became a Spanish teacher and married her husband Harold. She died of liver cancer at the age of 69. Richard became an accounting teacher and is still living on Nordstrom Avenue. Barbara met her husband Jeff at a dance on 19th, 1966. Barbara remembers seeing him from across the room. Barbara remembers that the room was so smoky that it started making her false eye lashes come off. Jeff, after meeting her for the first time thought he was boring her and she was falling asleep. It was quite opposite from that. The two were married on 24th, 1967 at Temple Hillel in North Woodmere in Long Island. Barbara remembers having a fabulous wedding with 240 guests. It was held in a wealthy area by the water and was decorated with beautiful flowers. To prepare for the wedding, Barbara and Jeff both participated in the Weight Watchers program and each lost an incredible 100 pounds. their wedding, they honeymooned in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Obituary: Ann Marie Burns Fahey, 92, of Cary, NC, died , 21. She was born in Pittston, PA and graduated Marywood , Scranton PA. While pursuing a career in biology, she met and married the late Francis X. Fahey of Harrison, New Jersey in 1948. lived in Teaneck, New Jersey until their retirement to the New Jersey Shore. Ann moved to North Carolina in 2000. In addition to raising her six children, Ann was a high school biology teacher at Paramus Catholic and Marylawn of the Oranges. She was also an active member of the Teaneck community, volunteering for numerous organizations. She remained active during her retirement, making friends and joining community groups in each of her new homes. Ann enjoyed golf and bridge and was dedicated to her Catholic faith. Ann is survived by six children: Francis X. Fahey, Jr. of Point Pleasant, NJ; James R. Fahey (Eileen) Seal Harbor, ME; Margaret Chiozzi (Robert) of Cape Elizabeth, ME; Mary Beth Rom (Fred) of Cary, NC; Eileen Fahey of Moorestown, NJ and Jeanne Marie Fahey of Arlington, VA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren. A Mass will be held 10:30am on , 27, 2014 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3008 Old Raleigh Rd, Apex, NC 27502. Obituary: Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Libby Faggert 69 of Rockwell died May 25, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at CMC Northeast in Concord, NC. She died from complications of a severe stroke. Her family and friends knew her as Libby. She was born on May 15, 1948 in Concord to the late George E. Hatley and Martha Kindley Hatley. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Donald Faggert, son Jason Faggert, daughter Michelle Green (Nathan) of Burke, Va., sister and best friend, Linda Sims (Jimmy) of Trinity, NC and a number of cousins, nephews and nieces. Mary graduated from Concord High School in 1966 and Appalachian State Teachers in 1970. She taught 6th grade for 30 years in the Cabarrus School System. She always loved sports, a trait she learned from her father. In high school,she played basketball, and because of her fine outside shot, won double honors by being named to the All Tournament and South Piedmont Conference Teams. She was also a gifted writer, and during her teaching career, she won the Cabarrus Young Author Award for an article she wrote about her father. She loved the San Diego Chargers and Phillip Rivers was her favorite quarterback. She was also a diehard North Carolina State fan, and loved getting on the Pack Pride forums to express her views. Mary will be remembered as a kind and loving woman. She loved her family, especially her children. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, North Carolina Chapter, 401 Harrison Oaks Blvd, Cary, NC 27513 Visitation will be on May 30, 2017 at Linn Honeycutt from 10:00 til 11:00 with memorial service to follow at 11:00 am also at the funeral home with Rev.
