Virginia Lee (Morris) Forbes, age 82, died at Sunrise Assisted Living of Norwood, Massachusetts on , 11, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Boston on 12, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Muretta Pearl (Porter) Morris.  She was raised in Roslindale and graduated from Roslindale High School with the class of 1950.  high school, Virginia enrolled in the Faulkner Hospital School of .  While attending School, she met her soon to be husband, John Forbes.  She earned her Degree in 1953 and was married on 6 of the same year.

 

She began her career as a Registered Nurse working in the Faulkner Hospital.  She and her husband John moved to South Norwood, after he was discharged from the Marine Corps, where she began working at the Norwood Hospital in the Surgical Department.  As an only child, Virginia was determined to have a large family, beginning in 1954.  moved to South Walpole in 1955 where she transistioned to the role of a homemaker to raise and care for her young family.



While living in South Walpole, Virginia became a member of the Epiphany Episcopal Church and served on various committees.  In 1970, Virginia returned to work taking a position as an RN with the Walpole Area VNA.  She retired in 1985 after 15 years of dedicated service.  As one who loved to serve and care for others, in her retirement, she volunteered her time to work with the Meals on Wheels Program through HESSCO.



Most important to Virginia was her family.  She dedicated her life to being a loving wife of over 60 years, being a great and loving mom, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She cherished the time she spent with her family and passing on to the next generations her family values.

 

Beloved wife of the late John Albert Forbes.

Loving mother of Diane & Walter Pelrine of Wrentham, Deborah A. and Robert Cutler of RI, Judith E. and Mitchell Bixby of Lunenburg, Douglas E. and Joanne Forbes of Millville, and John D. and Andrea Forbes of Walpole. 

Cherished grandmother of 13 and great grandmother of 6.

Step Daughter of the late Esther (Paul) Morris.

Step sister of Stephen Greenlaw of Westwood.

 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Virginia’s Life Celebration on , 13, 2015 from 4-8PM in the James H. Delaney & Son , 48 Common Street, Walpole.  Her funeral service will be held in the Grace Episcopal Church, 150 Chapel Street, Norwood on , 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Meals on Wheels, c/o HESSCO, 1 Merchant Street, Sharon, MA 02067.
