Obituary: Rev. James Thomas Jim Ford, 97, of Norphlet, passed from this life into eternity , 30, 2017, at Timberlane and Rehab in El Dorado, AR. He was born 8, 1919, in Furlow Community, just outside Lonoke, AR, to John Newton Ford and Sarah Frances Shirley Ford. He was a preacher in the United Methodist Church for thirty-three years serving the Holly Springs UMC charge, Strong UMC charge, Taylor UMC charge, Norphlet UMC charge, Hampton UMC charge and the Camden Timothy UMC charge. retirement, he and his wife Lola made their home in Norphlet where they were both members of the Norphlet UMC and he served as interim pastor to the Pleasant Grove UMC charge for a year. He served as a volunteer at South Arkansas Medical for twenty-six years. He served in the United States Army. He often said how thankful he was for his family and all the blessings the family has enjoyed. Preceding him in death were his wife of 67 years Lola Caldwell Ford; his parents; brothers, John Ford, Joe Ford and Bill Fulbright; and sisters, Elizabeth Kimzey, Ludie Baldwin, Louella Hortsman and Katherine Thresher. Survivors include his three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Ricky Evans of Calion, Linda and Cecil Polk of Norphlet, Diane and Denny Barrett of Searcy; six grandchildren, Schelley Covas (Jose), Bud Evans (Terri), Brandon Polk (Kerri) all of Norphlet, Chris Polk (Melissa) of Wooster, Raegan Jordan (Brent) of San Antonio, TX, Rane Barrett of Hensley; twelve great grandchildren, Caylie Covas (fiancé Nick Lambert), Evan Covas, Tripp Evans, Tucker Evans, Creighton Polk, Hayes Polk, Mathis Polk, J.T. Polk, Mitchell Polk, Ryan Polk, Barrett Jordan, Ryleigh Jordan; brother, V.L. Ford of Jacksonville, AR; several nieces and nephews; many friends; and the loving staff at Timberlane and Rehab. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. , May 3, 2017, at Youngs. services will be 9:00 a.m. , May 4, 2017, at Norphlet United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Newberry officiating. Obituary: Gregory Dean Ford, 50, of Benton, went to be with the Lord, on 9, 2016. He was born to Ralph and Carolyn Ford on 28, 1965 in Festus, Missouri. Gregory grew up in Cherokee, Alabama taking guitar lessons at Fame Studio in Muscle Shoals. He loved playing the guitar and piano, reading, and the color purple. Gregory was an alumni of Cherokee High School, Bethel Baptist and the University of Arkansas. He was a member of the Arkansas Songwriters Association and the Nashville Songwriters Association. Gregory played at The Bluebird in Nashville and on Beale Street in Memphis. He loved his church, playing in the orchestra at Geyer Springs First Baptist in Little Rock and driving church buses at Bible Baptist Church and Foothill Baptist Church. Gregory also loved to support missionaries around the world. graduating from high school, at the age of 18, he joined the Air Force. Gregory was stationed at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, Incirlik AB,Turkey, Little Rock AFB, Arkansas and AFB, California. He retired from Arkansas Air National Guard in Little Rock. During his time in the service Gregory enjoyed traveling to Turkey, Germany, Greece, Spain, England, Japan, and Gaum. He also took trips to Mexico, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents; James “Everette” and Ona Bell Ford and Robert and Leta Wornowsky. He is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline, four children; Starla Hester (Daniel), Shawna Kyles (Matthew), Zachary Ford, Mark Ford, four siblings; Charles “Chuck” Ford, William “Bill” Ford (Kelly Ann), Randel “Randy” Ford (Debbie), Patricia “Patty” McDonald (Charles), and three grandchildren; Landen, Lydia and Sophia. A visitation will be held , 12, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills , 10200 Hwy 5 N., Alexander, Arkansas. Services will be morning, 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel with Will Kennedy officiating. In Lieu of flowers the family request making donations to Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church Missions Program, 460 Cedar St Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, in memory of Gregory.
