Obituary: Daniel A. Dan Foret entered eternal rest 12, 2010 at St. James Parish Hospital in Lutcher, LA. He was 85, a native and resident of Lutcher and a former resident of LaPlace. He is survived by a step-daughter, Sharon Madere Laiche and husband, Clay Maurice Laiche; two step-grandchildren, Kevin Laiche and wife, Michelle and Tiffany Laiche Lee and husband Garland; and three step-great grandchildren Sam Laiche and Alyson and Madison Lee. Also surviving Mr. Foret are three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Lynn and Marie and Gerald Jerry and Catherine Foret, both of Lake Charles and Eugene Choc Foret of Midland, TX and one sister, Lorraine Foret Larose of Memphis, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Madere Foret, parents, Thomas and Ivonne Bourgeois Foret, a sister, Yvonne Foret Pavy and brothers, Thomas Buster Foret and Dr. James Jimmy Foret and nephews, Tommy Foret, Dr. John Foret and Philip Pavy. Mr. Foret was a graduate of Lutcher High School, attended McNeese State University and was an employee and manager of A & A Bourgeois Store in Lutcher. He enjoyed bowling, bingo and LSU sports. Visitation will be 16, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Fr. Mark Beard officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on , 28, 2015 at St. Marys Nativity Catholic Church in Raceland, LA. Mass will begin at 11:00 AM. She is survived by one daughter, Janet Jacqueline Foret Lococo and husband C. Teddy Lococo; three grandchildren: Gaynell Lococo Dufrene Aucoin and husband Keith; Castranzio T. Lococo, Jr. and Pauline Lococo Waguespack and husband Joey; one great granddaughter, Dominique Cecilia Lococo; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ridley Pierre Foret; daughter Gaynell Theresa Foret; parents, Seraphin J. and Clelie Zeringue Mire; four sisters, Theotile M. Dias, Blanche M. Dias, Enola M. Knight and Louella M. Bourgeois; two brothers, Ilson Mire and Felix Mire. She donated much of her time to tending to St. Mary Church on mornings for many years, and served as president of the Ladies Altar Society for many years. She sewed countless vestments for priest over the years. In 1974, she received Honorable Mention in the Houma Scribblers Club Poetry Contest. In of 1982, she was awarded the Bishops Medal for outstanding service to the church. She penned three books of poems, published them herself, paid for all costs, and all sales money was given to St. Marys Ladies Altar Society. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred.
