Born in Daviess on 23, 1930 to the late William A. and Anna Mae Clark Foster, Mr. Foster was a mechanic and member of the Hall Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching basketball, car races. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and member of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Roberts, a brother, Robert Lee Foster, Sr. and a sister, Sally Postiglione. Obituary: Wendell Gene Wendy Foster, 69, of Owensboro, passed away , 2, 2007 at his home. He was born May 30, 1938 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Roscoe L. and Fannie Lee Cecil Foster, Sr. He was retired after 22 years as a supervisor with the W. R. Grace Co. and Daramic. Earlier in his life, he had worked at Bass & Co., the American Cigar Co., and General Electric Co. He was a charter member of the Owensboro First United Baptist Church where he had once served as their song leader. At one time, he had sung with The McCrady Family Gospel Quartet, was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Ensor and was also a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a member of the Noon Optimist Club and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and golfing. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Beatrice L. Pug Morrison, Patricia J. Pat Foster, and Linda F. Sturgeon, and four brothers, William H. Bill Foster, Arthur L. Ott Foster, Joseph C. J.C. Foster, and Charles S. Charlie Foster. Surviving is a son, Perry Foster and wife Donna of Owensboro, two grandchildren, Wes Foster and wife Emily of Owensboro and Casey Foster and wife Kara of Chesterfield, Mo., three great grandchildren, Kendall Foster, Bailey Crowe, and Kayla Foster, one brother, Roscoe L. Bobo Foster, Jr. of Owensboro, two sisters, Dorothy Marie Dot Robertson and Geraldine Dena Benham, both of Owensboro, the mother of his son, Edna M. Purcell of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Services will be 11:00 A.M. , 6, at the Owensboro First United Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in the Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. with Masonic services at 7:00 P.M. at Glenn and after 9:00 A.M. at the church.
