Obituary: 76, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away 23, 2016. He was born on 8, 1939 in Anna, Ohio to the late Walter E. & Norma E. (Highland) Finkenbine. Larry attended Anna High School in Anna, Ohio where he was an officer with the Future Farmers of America. He studied agriculture at Ohio State University, graduating in 1961. He played varsity soccer for the Buckeyes, lettering each year, and was named team Captain as a junior and senior. He was the MVP in his final season. Larry was elected president of the Alpha Zeta fraternity at Ohio State University. receiving his degree, Larry worked as a high school teacher in rural Ohio communities before accepting a position with Ciba Geigy Pharmaceutical. Thereafter, he began a long and successful 33-year career as an independent insurance agent with Farm Bureau Insurance , serving over a thousand families in the Johnson county area. He earned the widely respected Chartered Life Underwriter designation early in his career and was the lead agent in the opening of the White River branch. Larry was a long time valued contributor to the church community. He was a founding trustee of Advent Lutheran Church in the 1970s and helped to open a second local church in the 1980s. A reliable volunteer in education, finance, health, and other ministry programs, he served the community for more than four decades. Most recently he was member of Resurrection Lutheran Church. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Sandra Sue (White) Finkenbine; three children, Brent (Jane) Finkenbine, Ryan (Suzi) Finkenbine, Darrin (Danyel) Finkenbine; two sisters, Sandra (Phil) Harris, Rita Lambdin; ten grandchildren, Daniel, Jessica, Casey, Keagan, Benjamin, Avery, Nathaniel, Maxwell, Christina (Devin) Dresslar, and Catelynn. Memorial service will be held 3:00 pm , 26, 2016 at Wilson St. Pierre Service & Crematory 481 W. Main Street, Greenwood, IN with calling starting 1:00 until service time. |

Obituary: Robert Bob Harold Finke, 79, of Evansville, IN, passed away , 04, 2015, at his home. He was born 13, 1936, in Evansville, to the late Harold and Helen (Latshaw) Finke. Bob graduated from Reitz High School in 1953 and Indiana University, Kelly School of Business in 1957. He was employed as Vice President of Finke Furniture - Just 37 steps from Main, the store with the magic door!! He served in the Air Force and the Indiana National Guard. Bobs passion was Kenya which he visited twice, but enjoyed through books and documentaries all of his life, history, golf, cars, IU basketball and football as well as everything Gabe, his grandson, was interested in. He loved his faithful dog and companion, Napoleon (Nappy). He became a friend of Bill W. on 20, 1994 and trudged the road of happy destiny with a host of friends that generally would not mix for the last 21 plus years. He served as President of No Names Anonymous for several years and was instrumental in providing guidance during the building of Old Stone III on Walnut and Evans. It was only appropriate that Bob shed his earthly body on Independence Day and gained a new freedom as he joined the Big Meeting in the sky. Bob was one of the kindest, most compassionate men with a tender and gentle heart. He never hesitated to help another by quiet acts of kindness. He loved God with all his heart and loved his family-always supportive with his quiet, serene strength. This world has lost a great man but heaven is rejoicing. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Loudermilk) Finke; daughter, Christine (Jim) Keck of Evansville; step-daughter, Vanessa (Daniel) Dzienny Hayes of Evansville; grandchildren, Gabriel I. Obituary: MARILYN "PEPPER" FINKBEINER, 87, a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, passed away on , Feb. 27, 2010, at Saint Anne in Fort Wayne, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on 27, 1922, in Fort Wayne, daughter of the late Edward and Lorraine Young, she was a graduate of North Side High School and attended Western for Women. She earned her BA degree from Indiana University in Bloomington in 1943. She married George A. Finkbeiner on May 21, 1949; he survives in Fort Wayne. celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year. She was a 75-year member of Trinity English Lutheran Church of Fort Wayne. Her passion was the theatre and acting. She enjoyed writing and acting in church plays. At Trinity, she taught religious drama classed for many years with Mrs. Norma Antibus. She was a past member of Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, Psi Iota XI, Fort Wayne Womens Club, Friends of IPFW and Elizabeth-North circle at Trinity. She was also a member of Theta Alpha Phi (dramatic fraternity.) In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, Donald (Mary) Young; a son, Jon A. (Brenda) Finkbeiner of Connecticut; a daughter, Carol (Gary) Zandstra of Lake George, Fremont; granddaughter, Lee Ann Zandstra of New Jersey; two cousins, Dorothy and Bill of Ohio; sister-in-law, Mrs. Sally Finkbeiner of New York; many nieces and nephews; and her extremely large family of friends. Obituary: Walter W. Fink, 88, passed away peacefully on 10, 2016, the First after Epiphany. Born on a farm in Marshall , Kansas on 5, 1927, he was confirmed in his Christian faith on Palm of 1942. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and was married to his wife of 61 years, Eunice, in Navasota, TX in 1954 by her father, the Rev. Paul. W. Ludwig, Sr. In 1964 he moved his family to Decatur, IN where he began his career as a District Representative with Aid Association for Lutherans, earning his Chartered Life Underwriter designation from the American of Financial Services, and retiring in 1991. Over his five decades at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur, he actively served in numerous capacities, including Chairman of the Board of Elders and President of the congregation. He also served on the international Board of Governors of the Lutheran Laymens League and its flagship radio program, The Lutheran Hour. He and Eunice moved to Lutheran Life Villages in Fort Wayne in 2013. He is survived by his wife, Eunice Fink of Fort Wayne; son, Roland (Debbie) of Woodland Hills, CA; daughter-in-law, Jane Fink of Fort Wayne; son, Edward (Friederike) of Fullerton, CA; son Louis (Kelly) of Fort Wayne; and son, Eldon (Kathy) of ville, OH; 16 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother Erwin (Dianne) Fink, and sister Olinda Fink. Obituary: Nathan P. Fink, 58, of Fort Wayne, died , 3, 2015. Born in Beatrice, NE, he was the son of Walter and Eunice Fink. A professional engineer and Valparaiso graduate (BS Civil Engineering class of 1979), Nate was the President of Hagerman Construction Corporation where he worked for over 36 years. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Lutheran Foundation and the Northeast Indiana Construction Advancement Foundation. He was the Board Treasurer for Lutheran Life Villages and was on the Northeast Indiana Regional Works Council. Nate was very active with Holy Cross Lutheran Church as an elder, the Downtown Fort Wayne Rotary Club, and the Building Contractors Association of Northeast Indiana. He was recently the recipient of a Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Mike Pence. This award recognizes Nates humanity in living, his loyalty in friendship, his integrity, his wisdom in council, and his inspiration in leadership. The award is considered a personal tribute given to those who have rendered a distinguished service to the state. Nate was also an avid golfer at Fort Wayne Country Club and enjoyed outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, skiing and traveling with family. He was great father, loving husband, and very beloved by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Jane; sons Daniel (Jade), John (Amy), and Jared; daughter Lauren; Grandchildren Ari, John, and Ivy Fink; parents, Walter and Eunice Fink; brothers Roland (Debbie), Edward (Friederike), Louis (Kelly), and Eldon (Kathy); and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held , 10, 2015 at 11:15 am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Ave, Fort Wayne, with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation will also be held on , 9, 2015 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park , 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne.
