Obituary: With sadness, we announce the passing of Mrs. Sue Pamela Edenfield. She is survived by her husband, Steve Edenfield, her brother, Alan Bailey, her sister, Gail Bailey, and her daughter Cynthia Chesser. Sue had a career in the business world at White's Bookstores, and with Jacksonville Magazine. In the early 1990's, she decided to give up her career and become a home maker. With her flair for decorating, she made a beautiful home, and a wonderfully landscaped yard. It was what she enjoyed most in life. Unfortunately, she had to battle breast cancer. She kept her good spirit until the end. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to Haven Hospice in Jacksonville or Orange Park, Florida. Obituary: Mary Frank Grimsley Edenfield of Maitland, Florida, 86, passed away on , 22, 2010, in Orlando, Florida. She was born on 5, 1923 in Enterprise, Alabama to Joseph Franklin and Mary Hill (Clements) Grimsley. She grew up in Panama City, Florida. graduating from Bay High School in 1941, she worked for five years at the Bay National Bank with the goal of saving enough money to fulfill her dream of attending college. She was active in the community, serving on the Bay Girl Scout Council and as a member of the Panama City Junior Womens Club. In May 1946, while singing in the church choir, her beautiful smile caught the eye of a returning World War II infantry sergeant. Following the church service, Bernard Chason Edenfield was introduced to Mary Frank Grimsley, and their lives were changed forever. In the fall of that year, as she had planned, Mary Frank enrolled in the Florida State for Women in Tallahassee, which became Florida State University in 1947, where she was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Kappa Delta Pi honor societies and sang in the college choir. Bernard, in single-minded pursuit of Mary Frank, transferred from college in Gainesville to the Tallahassee Branch of the University of Florida. were married on 4, 1948 in Panama City during a hurricane. Mary Frank graduated cum laude from FSU in 1950 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Education. Mary Frank had many interesting jobs throughout her life, including working at the Naval Air Station at Pensacola and in the Office of the State Auditor and the Department of Agriculture State Livestock Board in Tallahassee. Later, as a stay-at-home mother, she volunteered as a Gray Lady and was a Girl Scout leader. She was active in and served as an officer in the PTAs for the various schools that her daughters attended. She was an active member and officer in the Melbourne Branch of the American Association of University Women. When her children got older, she returned to work as a substitute teacher and teachers aide, and later taught business education at Eau Gallie High School and Brevard Community , where she helped many grateful students pass typing and shorthand classes. During the 38 years that she attended Eau Gallie First Baptist Church, she sang in the choir, taught School, taught and directed Vacation Bible School, volunteered in the church kitchen, served as assistant to the Church Treasurer, and was active in the D.O.W. and BYKOTA School classes. In the nearly 62 years of their marriage, Mary Frank and Bernard lived in Tallahassee, Pensacola, Dothan, St. Petersburg, Atlanta, Orlando, and Melbourne. moved to Maitland in 2005 to be near one of their daughters and became members of Winter Park Baptist Church. In their retirement years, Mary Frank and Bernard enjoyed traveling with friends and family throughout Europe and North America, and visited 48 states, missing only North Dakota and Alaska. Mary Frank will be remembered as a beautiful, selfless and gracious person and as a devoted daughter, sister, wife and mother. She was beloved and cherished by her many friends, for whom she always had a kind word and a glass of sweet tea, served with Southern charm and a smile that would light up a room. She is survived by husband Bernard C. Edenfield; daughters, Mary A. Edenfield (and husband Anthony Ricardi) of Maitland and Martha J. Edenfield of Tallahassee; brother Joseph Samuel Grimsley (and wife Dorothy) of Coconut Creek; and several nieces. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; half brothers, William Clarence Grimsley of Panama City and Wilbur "Bill" Grimsley of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; and half sister Emma Lee Wimberly of Panama City. A memorial service will be held at Eau Gallie First Baptist Church on , 28, 2010, at 2 p.m. EDT. There will be an opportunity to meet with the family from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eau Gallie First Baptist Church or the First Baptist Church of Winter Park.
