Obituary: Patricia Nadine Evans was born to Noble and Mable Johnson on 19, 1947. She was the youngest of four children and the first to be born in the hospital.

Pat grew up in Kathryn, North Dakota, a tiny farm town of about 50 residents, with wide open spaces and a sea of sunflowers. She was a tiny, little, shy towhead (blonde) girl. Referred to as a "free range kid" by her older sisters she was always a daddys girl, and grew up on the farm with no modern conveniences like indoor plumbing or telephone.

Her strong work ethic stemmed from having chores around the farm like gathering eggs, bringing the cows home to milk, and taking lunch to her daddy out in the fields where they often enjoyed the warm breezes under their special "picnic tree."

She graduated from Lockport West High school in 1965 and went on to study Literature at Valley City State University in North Dakota and Landscape Architecture at UT Arlington. Pat was a Technical Writer for Gulfstream Aerospace and a Jet Completion Specialist. She also started a home business making balms for lips and body with essential oils.

Anyone who knew her well knew Pat believed in the Word of God and devoted herself and the way she lived to Christ. She put God first. She was a pillar of strength to her daughters and taught them to be self-sufficient, kind and strong, just like her! She grew up Lutheran and was confirmed at Waldheim Lutheran Church in Kathryn, ND, but settled at Prince of Peace in
Arlington and was active in their prayer and intercessory ministry for many years.

Pat was an avid reader and would get completely lost in books. Because of her reading habits, she had a vast knowledge of things she had never experienced herself and amazing vocabulary for someone who grew up in such a small town.

She loved gardening and landscape architecture and often called plants and flowers by their long Latin names. Pat also enjoyed anything on Masterpiece Theater, (especially Downton Abbey), bible study, and traveling to the beach or a lake whenever she had the chance.

She never got upset at much, but when she did you could hear her say "uff'da!" - a Norwegian expletive. She also sung home again, home again jiggitty jig which she got from her mother.

Pat is preceded in death by her Parents, Noble and Mable Johnson; Siblings, Dennis Milo Johnson and Darlene Johnson Backhaus; and her cat, Kitty.

She is survived by her Daughters, Shelly Klein and husband Doug of Mckinney, TX, Emily Moholick of North Tustin, CA; Sister, Erlys Paul of Bismark, ND; Grandson, Luca; Nieces and Nephews, Rhonda Moyer, Brian Paul, Brad Paul, Dan Paul; and her Dog, Cash.

Pat was loved while she was here with us and will continue to be loved throughout all time and eternity.

Obituary: Opal Evans, 90, passed away peacefully on 18, 2014 in Georgetown, TX in the company of her daughter. If she could tell you the cause of her death she would say oo many birthdays and she would smile. It was her time. She was born in Lubbock, TX Dec. 8, 1924 to Charles Nessmith and Minnie Arvin Nessmith. Opal graduated from Lubbock HS. She met a returning WWII Air Force pilot, James W. Evans, when he resumed college at Texas Tech. married on New Years Eve 1946. Opal helped him complete much of his college homework. The family always credited her with an honorary college degree. She loved this experience and believed that women needed to be educated and have job skills that matched men so that they could live independently if necessary. She was ahead of her time on these issues. In 1952, a few years after their daughter was born, they moved to Hedley, TX and Opal became partners in Johnson-Evans Dry Good Store. selling this business she worked more than 20 years at the Security State Bank. At the same time she and James started their own business, Evans Fertilizer. her husbands death in 1993 she sold the business and officially retired. She moved to the Sun City neighborhood of Georgetown, TX in 2001 to be near her daughter and son-in-law. One of her biggest blessings was to be totally independent, living in her own home until the very end. Those that knew her well, knew she had this strong will and determination. Opal loved creating beautiful things. She was an artist and a perfectionist. She was a skilled seamstress, enjoyed all kinds of creative crafts, crochet, painting, flower arranging, upholstery, interior design & decorating. She was also known for her cooking, canning and at the business, for her brownies. Over the years she participated in the small towns activities, Lioness Club, Cotton Festival Committees, substitute teacher, etc. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Opal was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, Estul and Omera Nessmith, Glenna Nessmith Ivy, her husband James, and son-in-law Tom Buckner. She is survived by her only child, Jamie Buckner, of Georgetown, six nieces and one nephew and their families. She will be interred next to her husband in Rowe in Hedley. A private family service was held in Georgetown and no other services are planned. However, if you are indeed a friend of Opals, you will take a collected moment over a cup of coffee, with a sugary treat. You will recall a fond memory and say a blessed goodbye.
