Obituary: Lynn Colbert Eads, surrounded by family members, passed away peacefully 20, 2016. He was successful in many areas of his life: as an independent geologist, a past Worshipful Master of Independence Lodge No 1337, a corporal in the U.S. Army, and as a musician with the Bayou Banjo Club. He was also a pilot, as well as an avid hunter and fisherman. On a more personal level, Lynn was loved by many who knew his warm and caring heart, his ready smile, and his sense of humor. Born in Texas City, Texas on 10, 1931 to Oscar Thomas Eads and Georgia Katherin Colbert Eads, Lynn spent most of his life Corpus Christi, Texas. He graduated from Corpus Christi High School after which he continued his education receiving an Associate Degree from Del Mar followed by a year at The University of Texas. Lynn enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1953 and after serving two years transferred to the Army Reserve for another six years. Included in his final discharge from the Army Reserve was a Letter of Commendation from his commanding officer including these words: I would consider it a privilege to be associated with Corporal Eads in any capacity in civilian or military life…During his tenure in the Army Reserves, Lynn completed his Bachelors Degree in Geology from The University of Texas. The three summers that he had spent in the oilfield as roughneck had given him both the will to complete his degree and the incentive to join Coastal States Gas Producing . Fourteen years later, Lynn left Coastal States and set up his own company. He vowed never to retire, and he was working on a prospect days before his passing. Lynn is survived by his wife Shirley Sternberg Eads and his three children Steve Eads and his wife Carroll; Lisa Shoemaker and her husband Mark; Katy Moffitt and her husband James; and his stepdaughter Dana Barnette and her husband Tom. In addition, his grandchildren include Jeff Mosmeyer, Andy Mosmeyer, David Eads and his wife Valerie, Kristina Moffitt, Justin Moffitt, and Rachel Brown. Lynns great grandchildren include Blane Mosmeyer, Cole Eads and Violet Eads. His nephews include Paul Eads, Richard Gold, and Bill Gold. Lynn was a devoted member of First Baptist Church. The following are words he wrote. One can look upon the trials and tribulations of life in many ways. I, personally, hold to the belief that God purposely puts obstacles and things in my way to show me that all things are possible because I believe that Jesus Christ is my personal savior. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Tom Barnette, Mark Shoemaker, Eric Brown, Steve Eads, Jerry Martin, Jr., and Fred Sternberg. Obituary: Tommy Eades, 64 of Richardson, went to be with his Lord and Savior and family on , Jan. 19, 2015. Family visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on , Jan. 23, 2015 at Johnsons . Graveside service is at 2:00 p.m. on , Jan. 24, 2015 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. He was born on Nov. 30, 1950 in San Angelo, Texas to Thomas and Anita Eades. He married the love of his life, Barbara Davis, on Nov. 22, 1975 in San Angelo, Texas. He truly loved what he did for a living, which was driving trucks. He did that for 30 years. Tommy will be remembered as a loving father, caring husband, and wonderful grandfather. For Barbara, he was the man of her dreams and the most wonderful person. Baseball was his favorite sport and his favorite team was the Texas Rangers. He also liked to watch hockey, especially when the Dallas Stars played. He also cherished the times he spent watching wrestling with his granddaughters, Madison and Rachel. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts and uncles. Survivors include his wife Barbara Eades of Richardson; son Michael Wolf of Kerrville, Texas; daughter Debra Ashley of Richardson, Texas; son Chris Eades of Odessa, Texas; two precious granddaughters, Madison and Rachel Ashley; mother in-law Helen Davis of San Angelo; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and numerous cousins from Texas and Virginia.
