Obituary: David Joe Esa, age 67, died on 17, 2017, at the University of Tennessee Medical in Knoxville, Tennessee, after a brief illness. A native of Columbia, Tennessee, he graduated from Central High School in Columbia, Tennessee, and from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelors degree and a masters degree. In 1976, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Elizabeth (Betsy) Cox. Davids passion was playing guitar and other instruments, and he played in various bands throughout his life. He was fond of sports, especially the MTSU Blue Raiders, UT Volunteers, and Tennessee Titans, and he enjoyed traveling extensively. Davids career was with the Tennessee Board of Regents. At the time of his retirement, he was Director of the Tennessee of Applied Technology in Knoxville. He was a member of First Farragut United Methodist Church in Farragut, Tennessee. David is survived by his wife Betsy Esa of Knoxville, his parents Vera Jo and David Earl Esa, and sister Susan Kay Esa of Springfield, Missouri, his brothers- and sisters-in-law Suzanne and Houston Parks of Columbia and Lisa and Edward Cox of Knoxville, nephews Alexander Parks and Russell Cox of Knoxville, Tennessee, aunts and uncles Bonnie and Rex Friend of Springfield, Missouri, Marietha and Leonard Crewse of Brentwood, Tennessee, Mary Ann and Ted Baumgardner of Winter Park, Florida, and Esther and Allen Durrant of Jacksonville, Florida, and numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Gertie and James Oris Worsham, and Tressie Mae and Esa, of Mountain Grove, Missouri. The family will visit with friends on , 21, 2017 at Oakes & Nichols , Columbia, Tennessee from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at the funeral home, with Eddie Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Eddie Ragland, Tommy Williford, Steve Truelove, Randy Hales and family members. Obituary: Erwin, Wendy Waterhouse, age 78 of Hixson, Tn. passed away on 10, 2014. She was born in Manchester, England on May 27, 1936 to Arnold and Elsie Creighton Waterhouse. She attended St. Elphins, a boarding school for girls associated with the Church of England in Darley Dale. She then attained a secretarial degree and later was employed by the Grand Hotel in Manchester, England. In Manchester she met her husband Joseph Otis Erwin, Jr. of Athens, Tn. Joe and Wendy married 10, 1957 and moved to Hixson the following to make their home. Wendy loved America from the start. Wendy was known for her beautiful English accent on the morning radio show with Luther Masingill, advertising her Stop Smoking where she enjoyed helping people for 15 years. She also owned and operated VIP Temporary Services which later led to Norrell Temporary in Hixson, Tn. Wendy loved spending time with her family and friends especially boating and skiing on Lake Chickamauga. Wendy is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Joseph Otis Erwin Jr., her sister Virginia Macaulay and brother Harry Waterhouse. She is survived by her sister, Brabin of Leeds, England; her three children, Arnold (Karen) Erwin of Hixson,Tn.; Jhan (Steve) Shaaber of Jacksonville, Fl. and Joanna McRae of Knoxville, Tn. She is also survived by ten grandchildren Leigha, Garret and Colton Erwin; Riley, Bryson and Jenner Shaaber; Connor, Isla, Iain and Sean McRae; and her great-grandson Paxton Erwin-Cox. She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on 1, 2014 at Chattanooga \ North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153 Hixson, Tn. with The Rev. Donald A. Obituary: Wayne L. Erwin, 85, of East Ridge passed away , 11, 2016. He was a member of Crosspath at East Ridge and had been a Deacon for a number of years when it was East Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Erwin was a graduate of Central High School and retired from Bellsouth Telephone after 36 ½ years of service. He had been a freelance photographer for a number of years and was a member of Telephone Pioneers. Mr. Erwin was a veteran of the US Air Force having served 4 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mercer Blake and Elsie Long Erwin. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Tommie McCurdy Erwin; two daughters, Sheri Erwin Burchfield of Chattanooga and Julie Erwin Thompson of Minnesota; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. services will be held at 1:30 PM at the East Chapel of Chattanooga , 404 South Moore Road with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell and the Rev.
