Obituary: Frances W. (Polly) Edgemon, 93, passed away peacefully at Gods VIP Senior Haven in Fort Lauderdale, FL on 20, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Lynn Edgemon, in 1989. Also preceding her in death were her parents Jamie Claiborne Warren and Ray McFee Warren; her brothers Ray Jr., and Don; and her sister Mary W. Fletcher. Mrs. Edgemon was born in Bearden, Tennessee on 18, 1914. She was a 1932 graduate of Farragut High School, where she played basketball. She then attended business school in Knoxville, TN. Upon graduation, she worked for the Knoxville News Sentinel. During World War II, Polly was a Red Cross volunteer, knitting many warm garments for the troops in Europe. She married Lynn Edgemon, 4, 1943 in Baton Rouge, LA. Polly was a 45 year resident of Owensboro. Both Polly and Lynn were faithful members of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist, with Pollys membership reaching 50 years. She worked at The Paper Mill in Wesleyan Park Plaza for many years. She was also active in the United Methodist Women, the 1215 Club, Owensboro Civinettes, the Junior Womens Club, Girl Scouts and the YWCA. Polly was a great cook and enjoyed sewing, gardening and crafts. Polly is survived by her daughter Jamie Edgemon Smith and son-in-law Randy D. Smith of Fort Lauderdale, FL; her son H.L. Edgemon II and daughter-in-law Jean S. Edgemon of Chesterton, IN; her brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Walter D. Warren of Knoxville, TN; her sister-in-law Louise Warren Clotfelter of Knoxville, TN; her grandson Joshua C. Edgemon of Crown Point, IN and his children Logan and Luca; and one step-granddaughter Crystal L. Smith of Coconut Creek, FL.; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and their families. The family wishes to thank her neighbors and church friends for their devoted support over the years since Polly was widowed. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations, in the memory of Polly and Lynn Edgemon, to Wesleyan Heights UMC Building Fund, 1215 Scherm Road, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301. Obituary: Charles R. Edgell, 73, of Hartford, passed away 11, 2014 at his home. He was born in Daviess , to the late Chester Charles Edgell and Margie Mary Raymond. Charles was of the Baptist faith and was a member for nine years of the American Legion, Post 0055. Charles retired from Coale Trucking in Lakeland, FL in 2004. He loved spending time with family, tinkering with electronics and fixing computers. He also served faithfully for his country in the US Army. Charles was a supporter of Feed the Children along with many other charities and enjoyed spending time praying and committed his life to living for Jesus. Obituary: STELLA FLETT EDGE The Savior, Christ Jesus, led Stella, 62, to Heaven on , 07, 2003 after a long and valiant battle against cancer. Stella died at home, 2528 Lawrin Court, Owensboro, KY. And in the last days of her battle, she was cared for by her devoted husband of 41 years, Charles H.(Chuck) Edge and many adopted \brothers and sisters\ who love the Lord. The family is grateful to Hospice and all those who cared for her at home. Stella was born in Pittenweem, Scotland and reared in Lowestoft, England where she met and married her American Air Force sweetheart in 1962. Shortly after the wedding, Chuck brought Stella home to Owensboro. In the 1960s, she is remembered as the Scottish hostess of \Breakfast at Gabes\, one of Owensboros first television programs. She was also a local fashion model, model teacher and fashion show commentator. In the early 70s, she was a Realtor with Hunters and in the late 70s she joined Central Bank and Trust(now National City) where she remained until 1995. Since that time, Stella has been with Dart Polymers who stood by her through her lengthy illness. Stella was a baptized member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and a dedicated choir member and soloist under the direction of her favorite Music Minister, David Taylor. Over the past 40 years, Stella has been a member of numerous civic, social and Christian organizations. She and Chuck went on the Walk to Emmaus in 1991. Since then they have worked many walks and sponsored many pilgrims. Stella is also survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Dan Marley and granddaughter, Emma Grace Marley, of Louisville along with several cousins and friends in Great Britain, throughout the United States and Mexico. Stella had a joy for living and a deep abiding Faith in God. Her sincere desire was that all of her friends and family would someday be in Heaven with her. She wants her loved ones to rejoice that shes finally with Jesus. No more tears, no more pain, no more death - only the celebration of the life of a Believer. Visitation will be at Glenn from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on , 12th. Services will be , 13th at Walnut Memorial Baptist Church beginning at 9:30 AM. She will be buried at Pleasant Grove on Hwy 56 immediately following the service. Obituary: James L. Jimmy Edge, 62, of 1639 Griffith Ave., Owensboro, passed away , 28, 2004, on the 18th hole of the Owensboro Country Club. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. and was the owner of the Innovative Filter Co. He had previously been self-employed for the past 30 years. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and was a U. S. Army veteran having served as a drill sergeant in the 100th Division of the Army Reserves. He very much loved his Roman Catholic faith. He was actively involved for over 40 years in youth athletics including coaching, league presidents, fundraising, and booster clubs. He loved his 17 years coaching in the Catholic Youth Football League. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, golfing, horse racing, fishing, and playing Texas Hold-em.
