Mrs. Ennis was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Athens, AL. for 50 plus years and also lived in Wyndotte, Michigan. She was a graduate of Decatur High School and was known for her gentle, sweet spirit.

She was born in Decatur, Alabama, 29, 1920 to R.C. and Nora Sims.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Donald Dick Ennis; brothers: Mac, Bill, Lou and Tom Sims; and by her sister: Suzie.

She is survived by children: Don (Venus) Ennis, Lynn (Sherry) Ennis, Kevin (Kimberly) Ennis and Sandra (John) Ennis Covi. Grandchildren: Londa Bottoms, Donnie, Heath, Cam and Turner Ennis; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Obituary: Colonel Arthur Lee Ennis, MD, FACP, United States Army Reserve (retired), passed away peacefully on , Sept. 2, 2015, after a brief illness. Dr. Ennis was born in Lanett, where he spent his formative years. While a cadet at The Citadel, he volunteered to serve in World War II. He served in the US Army Air Force, as a waist gunner in B17s of the 8th Air Force, completing 13 missions, and flying out of Bury St. Edmunds, England. Prior to his European service, he completed training in Sioux City, Iowa where he met his future wife, Helen, whom he married upon return from service. his service in World War II, Dr. Ennis completed his Bachelor's degree in chemistry from Auburn University and subsequently determined, after work in Houston, Texas and in Oak Ridge, Tenn. that he wanted to be a physician. Dr. Ennis then attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine, with which he was associated for the remainder of his professional career. Dr. Ennis served as a faculty member in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism for a period of time prior to relocating to Gadsden, to serve the community there. Dr. Ennis held many leadership positions within the medical community in Gadsden through his dedication and leadership at Baptist Hospital and The Holy Name of Jesus Hospital. In Gadsden, as well as in Birmingham, he was known as "The Physician's Physician". Throughout his life, Dr. Ennis remained dedicated to United States military service. He served with the 3345th United States Army Reserve Hospital, commanding the unit from 1987-1991. He also served as the Command Surgeon for the 121st Army Reserve Command, and he volunteered and served for active duty in Paraguay, Argentina and the Republic of Panama. Dr. Ennis was the recipient of numerous military awards during his service, the most prized of which was The Legion of Merit Award, which he received for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service and achievement. Dr. Ennis and his wife traveled extensively throughout Europe, where he enjoyed practicing the languages that he loved: German, French and Spanish. His lifelong interest in military history, firearms, sports cars and Civil War Reenactments (The Raccoon Ruffs) as well as his love of horticulture, sustained him. He became a certified "master gardener" and dedicated many hours to helping others. Dr. Ennis is survived by his wife of 69 years, Helen; his son, Mr. William L. Ennis (Constance E. Livsey) of Anchorage, Alaska, Dr. Deborah Doineau (Philippe Doineau) of Nashville, Tenn., and Dr. David Ennis (Dr. Elizabeth Ennis) of Mountain Brook. Five grandchildren, whom he adored, also survive him, Eileigh and Emma Doineau, and Ian, Carter, and Katherine Ennis. Dr. Ennis was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Jean Ennis of West Point, Ga. Visitation for family and friends will be held on , Sept. 11, 2015, at Collier-Butler in Gadsden from 9 until 10:30 a.m., immediately followed by a chapel service at Collier-Butler Chapel. Dr. Ennis will be interred with military honors at the Alabama National at Montevallo at 2 p.m. on , Sept. 11, 2015.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that people donate a like amount to their favorite charities. Obituary: Dr. John S. Enloe, Jr., 74, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on , 25, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Manillia Opal Stock and John S. Enloe. He leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Jeanette (Buckley) Enloe, and four children: Rhea (Hal) Wynn from Montgomery, Tanya Enloe from Valdosta, Georgia, John (Mariah) Enloe from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Vohn (Candy) Enloe from Headland, Alabama; ten grandchildren: James (Lindsay) Wynn, Jacqui Wynn, Blake, Brock, Brooke, and Britton, Ella Rhea, Quinn, William, and Linnea Mae Enloe; one great-grandson, Easton Wynn; brother, David P. Enloe of Lakeway, Texas; and sister, Sue Ann Mohr of Hope, Missouri.

John was born at home in Hope, Missouri, on 19, 1940. He graduated from Soldan High School in St. Louis, Missouri in 1958. He received his B.S. Degree from Lincoln University (Jefferson City, Missouri) in 1968; his Master of Arts in Teaching from Harding University (Searcy, Arkansas) in 1972; his Specialist in Education degree from Arkansas State University (Jonesboro, Arkansas) in 1977; and his Doctor of Education from the University of Mississippi (Oxford, Mississippi) in 1982.

Dr. Enloe dedicated his life to the education of young people with sixteen years as a classroom teacher in Missouri, two years as an elementary school assistant principal, twelve years as a superintendent of schools and nineteen years at Faulkner University. The last seventeen years of his working career were spent as the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Faulkner. Dr. Enloe expressed the most rewarding part of his tenure was "working with students having difficulties and seeing them achieve and succeed in the end." He wanted to be remembered as an advocate for the students.

He was a faithful member of the church of Christ serving in deacon and eldership capacities at several congregations throughout his life. He was a Godly man, raising his children to know and love the Lord and be active in his service. His proudest accomplishments include the faithful service of all his children and their families in the work of the Lord.

He was an avid sportsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his buddies in the woods. He also enjoyed watching sporting events, especially at Faulkner University or anytime one of his children or grandchildren were playing.

Visitation will be held on at Leak Memory from 5:00 - 7:00. Services will be held on , 1, 2015, at the University Church of Christ in Montgomery, Alabama, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Antioch at Shellhorn outside of Troy, Alabama immediately following. Donations can be made to Agape or the University Church of Christ Benevolence Ministry.
