Obituary: George H. Dupere 24, 1915 - 2, 2011 George H. Dupere of West Palm Beach, Florida, formerly of Belle Glade, Florida passed away , 2, 2011. George was born in Escanaba, Michigan in 1915. He lost his parents in his early teen years and lived with family members. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Upper Peninsula Michigan before moving to South Florida in the mid 1930s. Shortly after arriving in Florida, George came to faith in Christ and began a long life of commitment to the Lord and to his Church. He married Ernestine Holley of West Palm Beach in 1940 and, after several jobs in West Palm Beach, Miami and Pahokee, George and Ernestine moved to Belle Glade where he was employed as Head Buyer for the department store chain Royals Inc. for 34 years. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Ernestine, two sisters Dorothy Kuzia and Katherine Olsen, children Richard (Marcy), Alice (David), Darlene (Lee), George Jr. (Pamela), David (Nancy, deceased), William (Carol), 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held , 8, 2011 at 10:00am at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 6411 Parker Avenue, in West Palm Beach, Florida 33405. A memorial service will be held at the Belle Glade Alliance Church, 425 East Canal Street, North, where George and Ernestine were charter members, , 9th at 11:00am. There will be opportunity for visitation with the family members at 10:00am. Obituary: DUPEE, Margaret “Peggy” 59, of Clearwater passed away 28, 2014. Peggy was a dedicated special education teacher for over twenty years, serving 14 years with the Palm Beach School Board and 8 years with the Pinellas School Board. She was a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, the Estancia Place HOA Treasurer, and was very involved in the Girl Scouts of America and the Special Olympics. She was extremely proud of her four daughters and their success in life. She was a doting grandmother who lived for her five grandchildren and was looking forward to meeting #6 who’s on the way. She loved spending time with her family and even loved her son-in-laws. Peggy enjoyed travelling with her husband, Allan, did so frequently. She was a collector of Hard Rock Café Memorabilia that she often picked up during her travels. She was an avid fan and season ticket holder for the Tampa Bay Rays. She loved to shop, especially for a good bargain, and appreciated her coupons. Most importantly, Peggy was the glue that held her family together. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Allan Dupee; daughters Peggy Sophia Dupee, Amanda Rae Daniels, Catherine Nicole Isham, and Tiffany Mary Rossiter; sisters Kathy Youngblood and Debbie Stavros-Youngblood; and grandchildren Rae, John, Edward, Joseph, and David. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Mary Youngblood and her sister, Nancy Higginbotham. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 pm on 8th at Sylvan Abbey . A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am on 9th at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Services will conclude with interment in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. |

Obituary: Eleanor Ann Dupee, 82, was born in Kearney, Nebraska and grew up in Ellensburg, Washington. She was a former Clermont City Council member and a well-known and respected community activist, inducted into four Halls of Fame in Lake . She died peacefully at South Lake Hospital on 6. Ann majored in journalism in college and was involved in broadcast in Los Angeles before her ground-breaking role as a public-relations point person for the Ice Capades. She traveled the country getting advance publicity for the popular ice-skating show. She married George Dupee, an advertising executive with the Wall Street Journal, and lived in Long Island, New York, before the couple moved to Clermont in late 1967. purchased the South Lake Press and were active members of the south Lake community. her husbands death in 1987, Ann served as editor and publisher for 25 years before the paper was purchased. It is currently owned by the Daily Commercial. She continued to write a weekly column, Remember When, until her death. Ann served as a Clermont City Council for several terms and also as the chair of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce. She served on several Chamber committees, including the Ambassadors, the public policy and education committees and started the Chambers Gem of the Hills Award honoring outstanding individuals and organizations. She was named the Chambers Citizen of the Year. During her time working with the Chamber, Ann was involved in many of the major changes in Clermont including the widening of Highway 50, the expansion of South Lake Hospital and National Training and the land purchase that included the library in addition to the South Lake campuses of Lake-Sumter State and the University of Central Florida. Ann was involved in a number of civic clubs and was the first woman who joined the Kiwanis Club in Clermont. She helped start the Kiwanis Club of South Lake, chairing many of their charitable events, including her favorite, the Christmas party for children in Head Start. She was the chair for more than 20 years and was gathering gifts before her death. She was a loyal member of the Beta Theta sorority. Other service organizations included Hospice of Lake & Sumter, East Central Florida Regional Planning Council, South Lake Historical Society, Lake League of Cities, Florida League of Cities, Lake Industrial Development Authority and Lake Sports and Tourism Committee. Ann enjoyed playing golf at Green Valley Country Club and was an avid reader. She was a longtime member of the Cooper Memorial Library Association Board and a member of Friends of Cooper Memorial Library. Ann was a faithful member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Clermont and served as a lay Eucharistic minister. Her council service, community service and philanthropic initiatives made her a legend in Lake , where she was inducted into four Halls of Fame: Lake Womens Hall of Fame, Lake-Sumter State Hall of Fame, Lake Business Hall of Fame and Leadership Lake Hall of Fame. Ann was fiercely loyal to her friends and family and was known for her trademark hat or flower in her hair and her multi-colored nail polish. She loved to dance and hosted her own 80th birthday party with more than 500 people in attendance. When asked how she was feeling, she would smile and say, Every day is a gift. Ann once told a reporter that it was her father who taught her the value of getting involved. My dad always said there are three Cs – church, community and chamber, Ann said. Ann is survived by her brother John Killian and his wife Deanna from Washington state; their children Dave Killian, Julie Killian Hannan and Annie Killian Nelson, in addition to seven great nieces and three great nephews. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Kiwanis Club of South Lake for their Head Start programs or the South Lake Animal League. |
