Obituary: DeVries, Bartele Arend, 80, of Tampa passed away 5, 2014. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elaine, in 2003. Survivors include his children, Bobbie Bullian (Aaron) of Tampa, Rebecca DeVries-Mitchell of Sarasota, and Daniel DeVries (Davina) of Temple Terrace; and grandchildren, Kyle, Hannah, Jason, Ethan, Abigail, and Aneli. Bart was born in Borneo, Indonesia. He was a POW as a child in World War II and this is where he came to know the Lord. With the Lord’s help, he rose above his circumstances- he served as a fighter pilot in the Royal Dutch Air Force, worked for many years as a corporate executive for Burlington Industries. A Tampa Bay resident since 1994, he was an active member of Christ Community Church. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11am on , 11 at the Christ Community Church, 6202 N Himes Ave, Tampa followed by fellowship. A graveside service for family only will be held at 3pm at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bart’s memory to Christ Community Church, 6202 N Himes Ave, Tampa, 33614 (for mission project, Cuba for Christ.) |

Obituary: Adriana Cornelia Maria de Vries-van der Vegt passed away in her home on 22nd 2015, in Dunedin, FL at 93 years old. She was born in Dongen, the Netherlands on 1, 1921. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph de Vries who passed in 1998. She is also predeceased by her siblings Matheus, Alda and Ellie; while she is survived by her younger sister Kitty. She is also survived by five children; Rene de Vries (wife Eleanor), Dick de Vries (wife Helen), Jos de Vries (wife Ingrid), Fons de Vries (wife Xandrie) and Marielle McDade (husband Mark). Her 14 grandchildren; Daniel de Vries (wife Kylie and two children), Rodelle Payne (husband Logan), Monique Eades (husband Neville and three children), Archie van Riemsdijk (partner Sharon and two children), Pascale van Riemsdijk(partner Mars and two children), Karin de Vries, Eddo de Vries, Esther de Vries (partner Patrick and two children), Marlon de Vries (partner Ties and one child), Lisan de Vries, Stefan de Vries, Casey McDade, Taylor McDade and Mitchell McDade. Originally from the Netherlands she is the daughter of a director of a milk factory. She later immigrated to Curacao, of the Netherland Antilles after World War II in 1949, where she worked as an Elementary School Teacher. She married Joseph in 1959 in Curacao, and raised her five children. She treasured education, instilling this in her children to attain higher education and pursue successful careers. In of 1981 she immigrated to Dunedin, FL, in the United States which was a longtime dream of hers. She was blessed to have family all around the world; she had the opportunity to see many beautiful places in her times visiting her family. She was happy to also have her daughter and three of her grandchildren close by to see on a consistent basis. She became an American citizen in 2009 which was one of her happiest life achievements; she was even recognized as the oldest individual to be naturalized in the ceremony. She is known by those who love her to be passionate about her family, environmentally friendly and skillfully playing the odds. She enjoyed puzzling, watching tennis, and playing the lotto. As an active member of the Holland club she enjoyed spending time with her friends and keeping in touch with her Dutch heritage. She was a remarkable woman who kept her mind active into her final days, proving her soundness of mind and significant strength. She will be laid to rest on 27, surrounded by her children, family and friends. |
