Obituary: Denham, Jewell E Nov. 24, 1921 - 14, 2014 "We find such inspiration in the way she conducted her life." On 24th, 1921 a baby girl was born to Lucy and Ed Brown. She grew up in Bee Ridge with her two brothers and sister in the family home surrounded by her dad's orange grove. Jewell was a lifelong resident of Sarasota. In the lower grades, she attended the little school located on McIntosh Road and later graduated from Sarasota High School in 1941. Jewell married her High School sweetheart, Ellis Denham and they spent their honeymoon in a cabin at Myakka State Park. At the time of their marriage, Ellis was on a short leave from the Navy and they had to borrow a car for their honeymoon. Jewell and Ellis had three daughters, Jewell, Sandra, and Luci. Jewell followed in her moms tradition of sewing and not only made all of her daughters clothes throughout their school years but also contributed to the family finances by sewing for other people. Jewell loved animals, never said an unkind thing about anyone, worked hard and always focused on her family. People were naturally drawn to her because of her kind and gentle spirit. She was a true lady. In the early days, Jewell and Ellis were members of the Bee Ridge Baptist Church where she served as a School and Vacation Bible School teacher. Jewell later became a member of Grace Baptist. Ellis' death in 1997, Jewell lived at Sunnyside Community in Sarasota, enjoying their Independent Living and later Assisted Living and nursing home where she made many new friends. Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, William Ellis Denham and brother Bobby Brown. She is survived by daughters, Jewell Elizabeth Denham (Tom), Sandra Joyner, Luci Weber; Grandsons, Kevin Kreutzfeld (Melissa), Eric Courtis (Melissa), & Shane Weber; Great Grand Children, Austin Kreutzfeld, Aly Benitich, Grady Courtis; Great Great Grand Daughter, Trinity Benitich; Brother, Ed Brown, and Sister, Louise Denham, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing and visitation will be held on 25 from 11:30 to 12:30 at Palms-Robarts , 170 Honore Avenue followed by a light lunch and then Celebration of Life Services will be held at Sunnyside Village Chapel, 5201 Bahia Vista, at 1:00. Burial will be at Sarasota Memorial Gardens. |

Obituary: MABEL F. DENGLER 86, of West Palm Beach, passed away on 24, 2010. She was born in Baltimore, MD, and lived most of her life in Everett, Massachusetts, before moving to this area 40 years ago. She had been employed as a secretary for many years before her retirement. Mabel was a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church in Palm Springs. She was also a member of the Ladies of Faith and the Dorcas Circle of Women. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; Frank Allard and John Dengler. She leaves her step-children: Robert (Gail) Dengler, of N.Y.; Judy ( Gordon) Demary of West Palm Beach; and former step-daughter-in-law Pat Dengler of N.Y. nine grandchildren, 21 great grand- children and one great great grand- daughter, along with many other family and friends whom she loved. Her family will receive friends on , 29, 2010 between 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM at the Faith Presbyterian Church, 275 Alemeda Dr., Palm Springs. A Life will be celebrated at 1:30 PM also at the church.
