Obituary: Margaret Cory DeLoy, 79 passed away on 30th, 2015 at Langdale Hospice House Valdosta Georgia after a recent illness. She was born in Orlando, Florida 21, 1936 to the late Lewis L Taylor and the late Essie Leigh Taylor. She was preceded in death by her second husband Warren C DeLoy and her brother Harold L Taylor. Mrs. DeLoy was a lifelong resident of Orlando, Florida. She attended college at Wesleyan in Macon, then transferred to Stetson University in Deland, Florida where she graduated with a Music Degree. While attending college she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. For many years she taught piano lessons in her home and was the music director/organist at Audubon Park Covenant Church which she retired from in 2001. Once her daughters were older, she went back to working full time. She was the bookkeeper at Glenridge Junior High, then moved to Winter Park High School and was the bookkeeper there until her retirement in 2001. She was a active member of North Park Baptist Church her entire life, only in the last years she was not able to attend due to health issues. Mrs. DeLoy and Warren enjoyed going to plays at the Bob Carr Auditorium and attending the Orlando Symphony. In the last 5 years she has resided in assisted living in Lake Park Georgia at Baptist Village and later went to Fellowship in Valdosta, GA. She was always so proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandson. If you knew her well you knew and anyone that asked what are her two favorite things and that would be the color Purple and Cats. Survivors include: her two daughters and sons in law Wendy and Brian Brannen of Valdosta, Georgia, Julie and Brett Thayer of Clermont, Florida. Her stepsons, Dee DeLoy and Craig DeLoy of Orlando, Florida. Granddaughter Britiany Haskin (Jeremy) of Valdosta, Georgia, Grandson Jeffrey St Pierre (Amber) of Davenport, Florida and Great grandson Grayson Eli Haskin. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Services will be at Baldwin Fairchild Goldenrod Chapel, Winter Park on , 2, 2016 at 11:00 am. for Visitation, Service at 12:00 pm. Burial to follow at Greenwood . Flowers can be accepted at Baldwin Fairchild Goldenrod Chapel/Winter Park or donations can be made on her behalf to any of the following, Baptist Village, Lake Park Georgia, Fellowship , The Elms Memory or Langdale Hospice House. |

Obituary: DeLotto, Julius C. “Jay”, 84, of Temple Terrace, passed away 4, 2015. Jay was born 8, 1931 in Trenton, N.J., and reared in Garfield, N.J. He graduated from Clarkson of Technology in 1952 with a degree in civil engineering. He proudly served our country in the Army during the Korean War and was awarded a bronze star medal. Jay married Filomena “Faye” DeLotto in 1955 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Bronx, N.Y, and they moved to Tampa the same year. He helped build his father’s fledgling construction firm and eventually became president and CEO of J.O. DeLotto & Sons, Inc. – one of the oldest general contractor companies in Florida. Jay was a longtime parishioner and strong supporter of Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church. He joined Ybor City Rotary Club in 1956 and held numerous leadership positions over the years, including as two-time president and as a board member for six years. He received Rotary’s Distinguished Service Award and its Paul Harris Fellow Award, and was twice named Rotarian of the Year. Jay was also a founder and the first president of the Associated Builders and Contractors Gulf Coast Chapter. He was generous in contributing his time, talent and treasure to the community. Over the years he volunteered at The Spring of Tampa Bay, a domestic violence shelter; Life Enrichment , a nonprofit community-based senior center; Alpha House of Tampa, an organization serving pregnant women in crisis and their families; and The Florida Aquarium. His hobbies included golf and cooking, and he was an avid reader of historical non-fiction novels. Jay was preceded in death by his father, Julius O. DeLotto; sister, Antoinette DeLotto and daughter, Elizabeth DeLotto. He is survived his beloved wife of 59 years, Filomena “Faye” DeLotto; son Mark DeLotto; daughter Anne DeLotto Baier and her husband Edward L. Baier; brother John DeLotto; step-sister Nancy Criswell; sisters-in-law Mel Yovanni and Joan Ciotti; granddaughter Heather Hills; great grandson Makai Hills; as well as nephews and numerous cousins. Visitation will be held 5-8 pm , 12, at Garden of Memories , 4207 E Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610. mass 10 am , 13, at Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jay’s memory to the Ybor City Rotary Club Foundation or Alpha House of Tampa. A devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, Jay will be deeply missed. His strong faith and enduring love and support of family and friends will live on in their hearts and continue to be an inspiration. |
