Obituary: Madeleine Barbara Doane, 77, wife of Donald of Westbrook, passed away on 11, 2015 at Branford CT Hospice after a brief illness. Madeleine was born on 6, 1937 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil to Martha Neuton and James Schure. Madeleine attended and was a graduate of Morgan High School in Clinton and was employed for many years at Chesebrough Ponds as a Customer Service Representative. She was also an active member of The Charter Oak Depression Glass Club. Growing up she lived in Brooklyn until the age of 14, then moved to Clinton, CT with her mother, before residing in Westbrook for the remainder of her life. One of Madeleines interests was the buying and selling of collectible glassware. In addition to her husband, Donald, she is survived and will be dearly missed by her daughter, Linda Bisogno and her husband Marco of Jupiter, FL, along with 2 grandchildren, Marco Joseph Doane Bisogno and Lauren Elizabeth Bisogno and great grandchild, Sterling Asher Bisogno. The Family would like to thank the staff of The CT Hospice for their wonderful care and many acts of kindness. Service will be at The First Congregational Church in Westbrook on Fri, 3/20 at 11: 00 am. Calling hours will be Thurs, 3/19 from 5-8 pm at Swan FH, 80 E. Main St. in Clinton, CT. Obituary: John W. Doane, Jr. John Winfield Doane, Jr., lifelong resident of Westbrook, passed away peacefully on 21, 2014 at the age of 94. He was the son of John Winfield Doane and Clara Pendleton Doane, also lifelong residents of Westbrook. He leaves behind his loving wife of 71 beautiful years, Daphne Jane Johnson Doane, formerly of Essex. He also leaves his brother, Donald Doane, of Westbrook. He is predeceased by his sisters, Mary Doane Maynard and Mabel Doane Palmborg Pellerin. Surviving are his only son, John W. Doane, III and two granddaughters, Jacqueline Doane Lianos of Westbrook and Cynthia Doane of Arizona and three great grandchildren, Adonia Doane-Lianos, Dylan Doane-Lianos, and Cassandra Doane-Lianos, all of Westbrook. John first worked in the mortgage loan division of Travelers, was inducted into the U.S. Navy in 1943, serving as a Radioman 2nd Class in World War II. He was plant manager at the Pratt Read in Essex, retiring in 1983. He truly believed in giving back to his town and to his country. He was an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 38 and Cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 38. He was an active member of the Westbrook Players group and played on Westbrooks Town Baseball Team. He was a member of the Westbrook Drum Corps. He was a past PTA president, served on the Library Board and the Planning Commission, and was a Selectman for two years. In addition, he was a Fire Chief from 1961-1963, serving with the Fire Department since 1941. A member of the Westbrook Elks, he served as Exalted Ruler from 1976-1977 and received the Grand Lodge Award for outstanding youth activities. He is a lifelong member of Westbrooks First Congregational Church, where he served as School Teacher, Deacon, and as a member of the Board of Trustees. He was the John A. Holbrook Award Winner in 2003. Family and friends may visit the Swan , 1224 Boston Post Rd. Old Saybrook, 29th from 4 to 6. services will be 30th at 11am at the Westbrook Congregational Church, followed by a burial at Cypress , followed by a reception at the Congregational Church Fellowship Hall. Obituary: Donald L. Doane, 91, of Westbrook, peacefully passed away at Middlesex Hospice in Middletown on 5th 2016. He was born in Westbrook, May 17, 1924, the son of the late John W. and Clara (Pendelton) Doane, and resided in Westbrook with his late wife Madeleine (Schure) Doane who passed away last . He is survived by his daughter Linda Doane Bisogno and her husband Marco of Jupiter, FL, grandchildren, Marco J.D. Bisogno and wife Elianna, of Port St. Lucie, FL, Lauren E. Bisogno of Jupiter, FL and great-grandchildren, Sterling and Isaiah Bisogno. He will also be greatly missed by his nephews, great nieces and their families. He led a full and active life where he enjoyed many years of boating. He also took up collecting and selling antique & collectible glassware with his wife until a few years ago. He enjoyed living as a snow bird in Tavares, FL where he and his wife sold their glassware at antique shows. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a long time member of the Westbrook Fire Department and retired from Pratt & Whitney. Obituary: Naugatuck, CT - Mr. John Joseph Dlugoleski, age 49 of Naugatuck entered eternal rest on 15, 2014 with his loving family by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Dlugoleski was born in Waterbury on 7, 1965. He was the son of the late John Mitchell and Jennie (Sargood) Dlugoleski. Prior to Mr. Dlugoleskis illness, he was a Quality Control Supervisor at Braxton Manufacturing in Watertown. He enjoyed going on trips, having coffee or lunch with friends, loved music of all types and spending time with his grandson, Zachary. His pride and joy were his daughter, Erika and grandson, Zachary. Mr. Dlugoleski made his home with his daughter, Erika, son-in-law, Nicholas, and grandson Zachary. Mr. Dlugoleski is survived by his daughter, Erika, son-in-law, Nicholas, grandson, Zachary; his sisters Fuhrmann, May Dlugoleski, Atwood and Marcia Dlugoleski and his brother, Ronnie Dlugoleski. Dlugolenski and her closest friend and cousin, Jesse Brick Piper. She is survived by her devoted stepsons, Alexander Dlugolenski and his wife Connie of Portland Ct, and Robert Dlugolenski and his wife Christy of Middlefield, CT. Her surviving grandchildren include Diana Dlugolenski (John Meegan), Laurie Dlugolenski(Robert) Gray, Mark (Jennifer) Dlugolenski, Deborah Dlugolenski(Stefan) McKosky, Robert P. She is also survived by her dear cousin, Marjorie Newcomb of New Hampshire, and several cousins in New Hampshire, New Jersey and Iowa. Dorothy graduated from Laconia High School in New Hampshire prior to relocating to Connecticut in 1946. She worked for several companies and completed career with Egan Machine as secretary where her husband, Alex, was vice president. She retired from Egan Machine in Bristol in 1981 to care of her granddaughter, Sarah Dlugolenski. Dorothy was active in the First Church of Christ Congregational of New Britain, singing for many years in the choir. She was an avid participant in the New Britain Chorale and performed many times in Sacred Heart Church. Her love of family, especially her grandchildren, was evident. A woman of many talents, she enjoyed reading, collecting poetry, and playing the piano and keyboard in addition to her love of singing. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Olivet Chapter, Bristol, CT. She will be missed by her family and friends as she completed a life well lived. services will be on , 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at First Church of Christ Congregational Church, on 830 Corbin Ave. New Britain.
