Obituary: Buxton Buck Demers Oct. 7, 1956- 19, 2009 Age: 52 Residence: Johnstown Buxton Buck E. Demers, 52, of Johnstown died , 19, 2009, at Hospice and Palliative at North Colorado Medical . He was born on Oct. 7, 1956, in Aurora, Colo., to Earl Edward and Valda Marie (Luning) Demers. He was raised in Virginia and New Jersey. He attended Sanford Naval Academy High School in Sanford, Fla., Central Florida Community , Houston Fire Academy, Military Intelligence in Fort Huachuca, Ariz., and the Colorado State Patrol Academy. Buck served in the Army from 1988 to 1992. He was a fireman in Houston, Texas, an Intelligence Analyst in Fort Hood, Texas, and a Trooper and Sergeant for the Colorado State Patrol. He married Margie Torres on Sept. 24, 1975, in Citrus Springs, Fla. He was of the Presbyterian faith, and attended Grace Community Church in Johnstown, with Pastor Bob Weber. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Buck enjoyed camping and fishing with his family, golfing and working and playing in his yard. He loved gardening. He loved motorcycles, and had a tremendous faith in God. He was the best father in the world and is the love of Margies life. He is survived by his wife; daughter, Dakota Marie Demers; son, Buxton Demers, Jr., both of Johnstown; step mother, Junko of Colorado Springs and sons, Steven and Howard Hosp; parents-in-law, Joe and Nydia Torres of Montrose; Raquel (Bob) Mcfee of New Hampshire, and their children Maddie and Ethan; nieces, Susan (Francios) Burianek of Kirland, Wash., and their daughters, Claire and Noelle, and Janet Hilder of Dunedin of Florida; cousin, Jean Luning and family of McClean, Va. He was preceded by his parents; a sister, Marion; brother, Neal Demers; three uncles; and an aunt. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. at Stoddard . Memorial service: 11 a.m. at The Corner Stone Evangelical Church, 35 S. Carlson Blvd., Johnstown. Obituary: John “Johnny” Keith Demas, age 87, passed away peacefully on 25, 2017, at home. John was born to Greek immigrant Tom Demas and Helen Demas on 13, 1929, in Pueblo. He is survived by his companion of 28 years, Mary Orf ; children, Kelly (Jim) Patton, Karen (George) Caldwell, Joni (Jim) Wolfe, John Demas Jr.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors also include his extended family, who he cared for deeply, Scott and Gina Orf and their children. Preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kim Griego; and the mother of his children, Dolly Demas. John owned one of the first Standard Oil Stations in Pueblo which lead him into the salvage yard business. He owned and operated Demas Auto Parts on 4th Street and later moved to Demas Truck Parts on Gary Ave, for more than 33 years. he sold the salvage yard, John and Mary opened Avanyu Southwest Arts on Union Avenue which specialized in Native American Jewelry. operated the store until John retired at the age of 80. John was an award-winning silver smith and very accomplished pastel artist. He was a member of the Pueblo Jaycees, Pueblo Rock Hounds, Pueblo Art Guild, Union Avenue Historic District, and worked tirelessly in the establishment of an art center in Pueblo which is now known as Sangre de Cristo Arts . John truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends, family, and anyone he met along the way. In his later years, he found great joy in the garden he and Mary created together, it was also home to some of his creative, life-size, Kachina metalwork. Family, friends, and others whose lives John touched are invited to a celebration of his life, Gold Dust Saloon on Union Avenue, 6th, 2017, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, to reminisce John’s life.
