Obituary: Lila Lee Saba Damous Lila Lee Saba Damous passed away Sun. Nov. 29 in Charleston, WV at the age of 93. Born in Lowell Mass. in 1922, her family moved to Huntington, WV when she was 2. In 1936 her family moved to Charleston where she graduated from Charleston High School in 1939. She received a business degree from Charleston School of Commerce. While living in Huntington, she specialized in Spanish and Mexican dance and performed for many programs. She worked at Union Carbide in the billing dept. and sang in the Union Carbide Girls Chorus. She was invited to sing at many weddings and funerals. She left Union Carbide to marry Michael Damous and worked with him in their grocery store, Super Market Basket located at the corner of Washington and Court Streets. She attended St. George Orthodox Cathedral where she was a chanter/reader. She was a member of the St. George Orthodox Cathedral Ladies Guild, Shums Il Bir Club, Alpha Iota Sorority Charleston Chapter, and Order of the Eastern Star #88, member of Safety Pin Club, Club 21, Church Women United and Interfaith, and founder of the Mother of Twins Club of WV and is an honorary member. She enjoyed her younger days bowling and won several city tournaments. She loved to embroider and had a passion for reading, opera, and music. She was often called upon as Toastmistress at various functions and was known for her wit and sense of humor. She was very outgoing, loved her family and friends and wanted everyone to be happy. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael George Damous, parents Andrew E. and Hazel Ann Saba, twin brother Emile and brother Shawkey. Surviving are her four children Maryann Skaff (Doug), George Michael Damous (Lexie), Rita Sue Damous Kee (Alan), and Richard Lee Damous (Barbara); eight grandchildren, Doug Jr. (Marisa), Teresa (Micheal), Thomas (Caitlin), Kristin, Dani, Alicia, Michael (Heather), and Eric (Madonna); 9 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Lena Saba, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at St. George Orthodox Cathedral (Corner of Court and Lee Streets), Charleston WV on Wed. Dec. 2 from 5 - 8 pm with Trisagion prayers at 7:30 pm. Service will be at St. George Orthodox Cathedral Thur. Dec. 3 at 11 am. His Grace Bishop Thomas presiding at the services, assisted by Rev. Fr. Christopher Eid, Dean of St. George Orthodox Cathedral. Burial and graveside Trisagion prayers immediately following service at Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to St. George Orthodox Cathedral, PO Box 2044, Charleston, WV 25327. Obituary: Ginger Lee Dameron, 58, of Prosperity, went home to be with the Lord on , 4, 2015. Born 13, 1956, she is the daughter of Glenn Bennett and the late Lillian Smalls Bennett. Ginger enjoyed quilting, reading, movies, fishing, and spending time with her family. She was employed with Beckley Garbage as the Office Manager for 21 years. In addition to her mother, Ginger is preceded in death by her brother, Stacey Wade Bennett. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Benjamin Dameron of Prosperity; step-daughters, Heather Lineberger and husband, Dale of Lincolnton, N.C., Jennifer Smith and husband, Brad of Lincolnton, N.C.; father, Glenn Bennett of Bradley, W.Va.; granddaughter, Chloe Lineberger of Lincolnton, N.C.; grandson, Dillon Smith of Lincolnton, N.C.; granddaughter, Chelsea Lineberger of Charlotte, N.C., granddaughter, Victoria Lineberger of Clover, S.C.; grandson, Trevor Lineberger of Cherryville, N.C.; sister, Rita Blake and husband, Dee of Crab Orchard; brother, Darrell Bennett and wife, Jane of Bolt, brother, Lane Bennett and wife, Carmella of North Carolina; brother and sister in laws and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
