Obituary: Frances Irene Douglas was born 25, 1931 to Frank and Myrtie Johnson, in Govan, Washington. She passed away 29, 2014 in Spokane, WA following a brief illness. She is survived by a daughter Patricia Irene Douglas of Liberty Lake, son James Edward Douglas of Almira, (wife Susan Lynch Douglas) grandchildren Margaret Carol and Jamais Ian Douglas, a sister Loraine Lute of Spokane Valley, a brother Norman Johnson of Sumner and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Her husband of 51 years, Edgar Wallace Douglas and a sister Betty Logan preceded her in death. Frances was a life long Grange member and dedicated farm wife. In her youth she was an active 4-H Member, and as an adult she founded the Busy Needles Sewing Club. She received many awards for her outstanding sewing and baking. In their retirement, she and Ed enjoyed many travels, fishing trips, shuffleboard tournaments and their annual snowbirding trips to Arizona. Frances passion was genealogy and finding the stories of her ancestors, including Revolutionary War soldiers and pilgrims. She devoted many hours of meticulous research and travel to verify her findings. Services for Francis will be held , 5, 2014, beginning with a 10 AM burial at La Follette (Almira), followed by an 11 AM Memorial Service at Almira Community Church. Memorials may be made in Frances name to the Almira Lions Club Park Project or the Wounded Warrior Project Organization. Please sign Frances online register book at www.stratefuneralhome.com .
