Obituary: Christine Grace Sievers DETTON Christine Grace (Sievers) Detton passed away on Oct. 10, 2010. She was born Dec. 01, 1917 in Republic, WA to Ernst Ludolf Sievers and Jessie Lou Wheeler. A resident of Auburn, WA since 1952, she was pre-deceased by her husband of 60 years, Lars Virgil Detton in 2000. Her world was defined by Auburn, family, friends, her home and Church. She was a traditional woman who excelled in the home making arts with great talent as a seamstress and dressmaker. She loved to shop, vacation in Maui family dinners and especially Christmas, grandchildren and family reunions. She was a long-time member of P.E.O. and the L.D.S. Church She is survived by daughters Dianna Lu Larsen (Garrett), Candice Lee Chamberlain (Robert), grandchildren Phaidra Manns, Sarine Laird, Brianna Chamberlain, Braiden Chamberlain, Chad Hitchens, and Torin Larsen; great grandchildren Christina and Amanda Laird; Jorde, Benjamin and Shayne Hitchens; Avery, Bronwyn and Charlotte Chamberlain. Obituary: Kenneth Detrick, age 75, of Yakima, WA passed away , 28, 2010 in Yakima, WA. He was born 7, 1934 in Pablo, MT the son of Walter and Ardys (Kelly) Detrick. On 31, 1971 he was united in marriage to Nola Holland, who survives. He is also survived by seven children, Verna Buchanan of Buckley, WA, Jimmy Detrick of Seattle, WA, Marshall Holland of Tacoma, WA, Elaina Appleby of MO, Jeffrey Holland of MO, Bradley Detrick of Seattle, WA and Gregory Detrick of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by one brother, Walt Detrick of Naches, WA. He left behind 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, all who dearly loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister Leona Cook and 3 brothers Don Detrick, Leroy Detrick and Bob Detrick, and 1 daughter Vicky Sims. Kenny graduated from Cleveland High School in Seattle, WA. He was a long haul truck driver for 40 years for many different trucking companies. In 1996 he retired. retirement he kept busy working side by side in the yard with his wife. Through the years he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He also liked to keep in touch with all his trucking friends and you could find him at the Gearjammer every week shooting the breeze. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. , 6, 2010 at Yakima 2nd Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4307 Englewood Ave. Yakima. Obituary: On 12th, 2015 Barry S. Detraz, 55, passed away peacefully. Barry was born to Elmer S. and Charlene B. Detraz on 26th, 1960. He is survived by his brother, Emmett Detraz of Renton, WA, sister Charlotte (Dennis) Trimmer of Port Royal, SC, and sister Sheri Hale of Mesa, AZ. He is also survived by nieces Kristie Anderson of Algona, WA, Shannon Funk of Gilbert, AZ, and nephews Shawn and Jason Trimmer both of Port Royal, SC. Barry was a Tumwater High School Graduate. In 1983 he enlisted in the Army National Guard where he remained Sargent for four years. Later Barry became a Wiring Technician for Boeing. During some down time Barry went to work for Medtronic for a brief period before returning to work on aircraft. Barrys hobbies included Photography, Cooking and Computer gaming. He was very gifted at all of them and his friends and family benefited with delicious meals, BBQs, and especially his homemade cheese balls at Christmas. Barry was a man who could light up a room with his sense of humor and ability to tell fascinating stories. He remained best friends with fellow classmates Jim Decker and Chris Peterson. Together, and with his brother Emmett, they enjoyed fishing in Westport and Ilwaco, bird and deer hunting, camping, birthday parties, poker games, holidays, life, love, laughter and more. Barry was never married but his best friends children grew up knowing him only as Uncle Barry. Just as with his own family, Barry treated his adopted families with love, kindness and respect while always adding humor. He became a personal photographer at graduations, holidays, weddings, birthdays and social gatherings. Barry has always been a kind hearted, thoughtful, happy, and encouraging soul as a brother, uncle, and best friend. services will be at 11am 24th, 2015 at Mills & Mills s in Tumwater on Littlerock Rd. Following the funeral services there will be a Celebration of Life at the Petersons, 16441 Old Dirt Lane SW, Tenino WA 98589. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate a man who certainly deserves the honor of having family and friends gather to reflect, share stories, laugh, and share good food and a toast. Keeping Barrys tradition there will be a BBQ as well so guests are asked to bring a side dish and your choice of beverages along with a smile and a joke or two. In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to The American Cancer Society. |
