Obituary: Marion Charlotte Dacca, the Matriarch of the Dacca family for decades, passed away peacefully on 23, 2014. A life-long resident of Fife, she and her husband, Louis Dacca, operated L.L. Dacca Farms for over 51 years prior to his passing in 1993. Mom was one of four children born to Otto and Signe Hanson who settled in Fife prior to WWI. Born on 30, 1922, she entered the world with her twin sister Mildred who remained her best friend throughout their lives. The twins grew up comfortably during the Great Depression, graduated from Fife High School in 1940, attended beauty school together and were even married together in a double wedding ceremony in 1942. Although they knew each other from the Fife area, Marion fell in love with her husband Louis after a dance at the Swiss Hall. their marriage, they built a life together in the Fife community and operated a true family ruck farm for over 50 years. Mom was known for her hard work, generosity and quiet strength, and she was active in the Fife schools and community, the Farm Bureau and the Fife Presbyterian Church. Throughout her lifetime, her primary focus was always the welfare and love of her family. Marion is survived by her three children: Larry, of Chehalis (Karen Browe, Michael, Robyn Kelley, Kristen and John); Frank, of Gig Harbor (Ryan and Joe); and Arlene Alexander of Phoenixville, PA (husband Allan and Cody), along with their extended families, including 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Mildred Bisig (Jim and Tom Merritt), her sister Thelma Hopkins (Dennis and Ron) and her brother Ivar Hanson (Linda and Ralph). Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service on , 1, 2014, at 1:30 pm at Puyallup Church of Christ, 402 - 5th St. SW, Puyallup, WA 98371. Obituary: Josephine T. (Rodgers) DaBruzzi Born 28, 1920 Died 22, 2012 Jo was born on a small farm in Hensel, North Dakota the youngest of 9 children. graduating high school she left the farm and moved to Fargo, North Dakota and lived with her older siblings. She found work in the meat packing industry for Armours from 1938-1947, she then moved to South Saint Paul, MN and worked for Swift Meats until 1969 when closure of the plant forced her transfer to Yakima and worked for H & H Meats until 1977. She married Charles DaBruzzi of 1952 and embarked on her journey of taking an automatic family. Jo was all about family, when she made a commitment she kept it for life. She always put others needs ahead of her own. Jo was a bit timid, but once she got to know you she was a friend for life. There was a little Luck o the Irish that surrounded Jo and she loved her Bingo and cards until Macular Degeneration forced her hand. Jo was also fond of her Irish heritage and was active in the Genealogy Society for many years. Most importantly Jo was a FAITHFUL SERVANT to her God. She served as Eucharistic Minister for St. Pauls Cathedral and delivered communion and spiritual comfort to the aged and sick when she could, and there was rarely a day that she was not on her rosary beads. Jo most recently enjoyed her home of 7 ½ years at Englewood Heights surrounded by staff and friends who could not help but love her. Jo was becoming weary and tired. She left this life with grace and dignity because God needed one more angel-Heaven awaits our wonderful, loving mother. May your journey be peaceful-your loving family. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, husband Charlie, daughter Patty and 3 grandsons. She is survived by one son Ronald (Judy) DaBruzzi of St. Louis Park, MN; daughters , Joan (Tom) Pieper of Inver Grove, MN, daughter Donna DaBruzzi of Inver Grove, MN, daughter Debbie (Lonnie) DaBruzzi of Yakima and daughter Kathy (Ron) Hartley of Portland, OR; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, many friends and family. |
