Obituary: DIXON, Floyd C. Jr, 95, passed away on 17, 2017. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Margaret H. Dixon. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara L. Dixon, and son-in-law, Michael R. Danis, of Alexandria, VA. Born in Lexington, VA, Floyd graduated from Fairfield High School and briefly attended Washington & Lee University before beginning what would be a 43-year career with Virginia Electric and Power . Dedicated to VEPCO, he moved to Alexandria, Williamsburg, and finally Richmond where he worked and lived the longest. However, Floyd never lost his fondness for his beloved Shenandoah Valley. In retirement, Floyd enjoyed gardening, refinishing antique furniture, and volunteering at the Science Museum of Virginia. He had a lifelong passion for the NY Yankees after seeing Babe Ruth play baseball in person. He also was a longtime member of Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church. While Floyd was known for speaking his mind, he was a man of few words. His candor and at times gruffness belied his loyalty and affection for family, friends, and animals, especially Cecil, his cherished pet who was with him until the end. A graveside service will be held at Westhampton Memorial Park on , 24 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Henrico Humane Society or Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church. Obituary: Eleanor Dixon, age 82, died peacefully , 13, 2014 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA. Born on 25, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John W. Dixon and Katherine Horack Dixon. Miss Dixon was a graduate of Mary Washington and attended First Presbyterian Church in Arlington, VA where she lived for many years. She most recently resided at HeartFields at Fredericksburg, VA. Miss Dixon will be buried at 10:00AM, , 28, 2014 in the Rose Garden of Sharon Memorial Park. Miss Dixon is survived by three nieces, Katharine Marks, of Dowington, PA, Margaret Sweede, of North Wilksboro, NC, Elizabeth Laking, of Severna Park, MD and a nephew, Jon Laking, of Annapolis, MD.
