Obituary: Donna Lee (Allis) Deforge, age 64, of Shelburne, passed away peacefully on , 30, 2016, with her husband and three children at her side in her home, after a very brave and courageous two year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Burlington, VT on 5, 1951, to Donald and Laurette (Rainville) Allis, and graduated from Rice Memorial High School. On 18, 1970, she married the love of her life, Ken Deforge and together raised three children. In the early years of their marriage Donna babysat many children while taking care of her own. In 1982, she decided to work outside the home and was employed as a Food Service Specialist for the next 32 years at the Shelburne Community School, up until the time of her illness. Donna enjoyed many hobbies such as knitting, scrapbooking, cooking, baking, and of course, shopping. But her most enjoyable moments came from the time spent with her children and grandchildren. Those moments were when she was the happiest, overflowing with pride, joy and love. She was known as mom to her three children and to many others who frequented her home; and was known as ana to her six grandchildren. To call Donna a loving person would be an understatement. She cared about everyone around her - always making herself available to anyone in need. Her kindness, generosity, and enthusiasm were contagious. She will be remembered for her unique parting words, whether to friends, family, or strangers, Have a happy day! She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ken Deforge, of Shelburne; their children Buck Deforge and wife, Susan of Palmyra, VA, and husband David Hathaway of Colchester, Kimberley and husband Dan Rodliff of Shelburne; her mother Laurette Allis; her six grandchildren, Hunter and Colby Deforge, Autumn and Summer Hathaway, Chase and Holden Rodliff, and by many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Donald Allis. Her family would like to thank her sisters by heart, Sue Cooper and Angie Nulty, for their unwavering love and support on countless trips to Boston and Hanover during Donnas fight. In addition, her family would like to thank the many friends and medical care providers who tended to her needs during her courageous battle, including the oncology department at the UVM Medical , Brigham and Womens Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical . Visiting hours will be held on , 4, 2016 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Ready & Cremation Service South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Rd., Burlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on , 5, at 10:00 am at St. John Vianney Church, So. Burlington. Burial will be later at the convenience of the family. Obituary: Victor Joseph Decoste, 80, beloved husband, father and and grandfather died peacefully at home with his wife by his side on , 13, 2014 after a long illness. He was born 6, 1933 to Eldemore and Bertha (Gadway) Decoste at the family farm at Cannons Corners, NY. He grew up in Mooers, NY and in 1952 joined the Air Force and served as a radar technician in Guam during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged and was soon hired by IBM in Kingston, NY. In 1960, he married Sharon Jones of Tulsa, OK and in 1965 they were transferred to Florida where Victor worked on the space program at Cape Kennedy until 1968 when he transferred to the IBM facility in Essex Junction, VT. He retired in 1986. Victor had a wide variety of interests and talents. He was an excellent, self-taught fiddler from a young age, memorizing any jig or reel he heard and performing it perfectly. He was delighted to play at family events and square dances. He could repair or remodel almost anything from a childs toy to cars and houses. He liked to stay informed about health and political issues through study and extensive reading. He especially enjoyed a lively game of cards with family and friends, a tenacious competitor who always came back fro more. He loved to travel and was a frequent and welcome visitor at the homes of his far-flung family in the U.S. and Canada. Victor was a private, kindly, but fiercely independent person with handsome blue eyes, a disarmingly shy smile and subtle wit. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon; daughter, Annette (Greg) Boyle and their three children Katherine, Peter and Ian of Poughkeepsie, NY; son Brent (Ryoko) and their three children, Kana, Amon and Shunta of Los Angeles, CA; four siblings and their spouses, Lawrence (Valerie), Sandra (Mike) Bechard, Gary (Linda) and Linda (Wayne) Supernaw; his aunt Dora Decoste, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; six brothers, Raymond, Marcel, Leon, Esmond, Arthur, and Lionel; one sister, Rita Demarais Calling hours will be , 20, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Ross in Mooers, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated , 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anns Church in Mooers Forks, NY. The Mass will be celebrated by Father Garvin Demarais, nephew of the deceased. Interment will follow in St. Anns Cemetary. Following the funeral, there will be a reception at the St. Anns Parish .
