Obituary: Verl Dee Davies, son of Franklin Dee and Winona Fietkaw Davies, passed away , 28, 2010. Verl was born in the Talmage, Utah, Post Office on 14, 1930, the second of seven children. His grandmother was the postmistress and the office was in her home. He attended school in Duchesne until the family moved to Springville. He graduated from Springville High School. He served in the U. S. Army in Korea from 1951 to 1952. Verl worked for W. W. Clyde and Reynold’s Construction for several years, and then joined with Ray Hiatt and Kenneth Pineger to form PHD trucking. In 1960 he married Geraldine Hiatt and adopted her two daughters from her previous marriage. had two children together, Brett and Janalyn. In 1977, after Geraldine’s death in Oct, 1975, he married Betty Haskell Bowcut in 1977 and became a loving stepfather to her seven sons. In 1986, while continuing his own trucking business, Verl and his son Brett, formed Auto Brokers in Springville. Verl etired a few years ago but still enjoyed his time at the shop. He and his brother, Russell, still have several business ventures together. Verl is survived by his wife, Betty, daughter, Janalyn Aldous (Corrie), son, Brett, and seven Bowcut stepsons, Michael (Susan), Don (Nora), Steven (Marie), Jim, David, John (Torri), and Carl (Suanne), adopted daughters Sharolyn Kane (Brian) and Karalee Forsling (Michael), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Russell (Janet), and Kirk (Yolanda, dec.) and sisters Mildred Haymond (Dean) and Audry Gavin (Terry). Verl was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Eugene (Sally) and Lyle (Maxine). Verl was loved by many and we will miss him every single day for the rest of our lives. The family wishes to thank the kind and expert medical care he received at Timpanogos Regional Hospital. services will be , 2, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Orem Northridge Stake , 1674 North 200 West, Orem. A viewing will be held evening, from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson , 646 East 800 North, Orem, and morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City . |
