Obituary: Mary Dzuro, a long-time resident of Plano, Texas, died 25th at her home at the age of 93. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, on 27th, 1921, to Lawrence Wright and Helen Marie Farley, she lived there for 64 years. She graduated from East High School and went on to be a secretary at St. Josephs school for over 30 years. Mary met and married Carl Dzuro, a marriage that lasted until his death in 1990. Carl started out in the factory at John Deere, and worked his way up in the company to become an office manager. He also played semi-pro baseball and had the honor of pitching against Stan Musial. She was active in St. Josephs Parish, being in charge of the Bingo game every which raised money in support of the school. She and Carl moved to Plano in 1985, never to move again. In Plano, she bought herself a pair of cowboy boots and took up country western dancing. She loved being with her family, babysitting her two grandchildren while her daughter taught school, making the most awesome pies, and gardening. She enjoyed a good martini and Manhattan, but most of all she loved playing bridge. She made some wonderful friends at the bridge table and was able to keep her mind sharp, even at 93, by her analysis of bridge hands. She also exercised her mind by working crossword puzzles every day. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Bambenek, her son-in law, Ted Bambenek, her grandson Bryan Bambenek, his wife Kendle, her granddaughter Shannon Bambenek McCreary, her husband Ethan, and her great granddaughter Harper Bambenek. In addition, her family in Memphis, TN, includes her brother James Wright and his wife Teresa, her nephews, Lawrence Wright and wife Mary, Thomas Wright and his wife Jeanette, Steve Wright and his wife Roberta, and many grand nephews and nieces. From Indialantic Florida, she has a nephew Joseph Wright and from Nashville, Robert Wright. The visitation will be at Ted Dickey West on 29th from 7-8PM with a rosary led by her brother Jim at 8. The funeral mass will be at St. Marks Catholic Church in Plano on 30th at 10:30. Immediately following lunch will be served at the parish community building. At 1:30, there will be a graveside service at the Plano Municipal . |

Obituary: , 18, 2015, ended up being John Dzurnaks last day with us. Although he was in the midst of planning his 80th birthday celebration with his children, God had bigger plans and called on him to help. John never woke up that morning. Born in Torrington, Connecticut on 13, 1935, to Joseph and Mary Dzurnak, John was the oldest of 3 sons (William (deceased 2014) and Philip). graduating from Torrington High School, he joined the United States Air Force (USAF), married his high school sweetheart, Ella (deceased 2008) and traveled the globe. The Dzurnaks itinerary included overseas duty assignments in France, Guam, Japan, Philippines, and U.S. assignments in California, New York, Massachusetts and Texas. honorably serving our country for 28 years, John retired in 1981 with the highest enlisted rank available in the USAF, Chief Master Sergeant. He also completed his education with dual masters degrees. His career path continued into the private club industry where he managed private country clubs in Denton, Wichita Falls and Austin. Johns etirement started in 2005 when he became a partner in a hospitality consulting business (now called STIRS). His greatest friend, Bob Max, is the only surviving partner. John The Great DZS Dzurnak is survived by his four children: Karen M. Lentz and her husband, Richard, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; John M. Dzurnak and his wife, Jenny, of Wichita Falls, Texas; Joan E. Gentry of Austin, Texas; David E. Dzurnak and his wife, Arlene, of Salt Lake City, Utah; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Johns vigil will be held on , the 24th of , from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook- Walden/Forest Oaks and Memorial Park located at 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749.
