Obituary: John K. Dowling, 72, passed away at his home in Cross. service will be held 10:30 a.m. , 4 at Memorial Chapel in Bryan with Bro. Bobby Slaydon officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. John K. was born 4, 1938 in Bryan to William Lee and Iva Grace (Kellett) Dowling. graduation from Stephen F. Austin High School, he held various law enforcement and customer care positions. He married the love of his life, Doris Marie Lee on 15, 1961. His favorite post-retirement job was driving a school bus for the kids in his community. John K. was a long time member of Northview Baptist Church in Bryan. John K. is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Grace Dowling, and nephews, William Glenn Dowling and David Patterson. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Doris (Lee) Dowling of Cross; sister and brother-in-law, Meribeth and Wilburn Patterson of Hilltop Lakes; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Kay Dowling of Bryan; mother-in-law, Tula Marie (Taylor) Lee of Cross; son and daughter-in-law, John W. and Kay Dowling of Bryan; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Christopher Simons of Cross; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Cheryl Dowling of Cross; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Diane Lee of Amarillo, Kenneth and Ann Lee of Singleton; his beloved grandchildren, Justin Young and wife Megan, Ashley Shupak and husband Curtis, Megan Simons and her fiancé Chad Russ, William Kellett and Alexander Lee Dowling; three great-grandchildren; close family friend and caregiver, Joni Mayes of Station; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. |

Obituary: Services for Genevieve Nan Dowling, 35, of Dallas, will be held on , 3, 2015 at 10am at St. Ritas Catholic Church in Dallas. Father Luca Simbula will celebrate the memorial mass. The family will greet friends at Sparkman Richardson in Richardson, Texas from 5 until 9pm on , 2. Nan was born in Humble, Texas on 18, 1979 to Jack Dowling and Carol Jones Dowling. She was raised in Carrollton, Texas and attended the Carrollton/Farmers Branch School District. Upon graduating from Newman Smith, she attended Texas A&M University. Nan loved swimming and running her entire life. She was actively competitive in both sports and won numerous awards for her achievements. She was the best friend to her sisters, Nicole and Korie, of which she was an identical twin to Nicole. One friend recalls Nan in an online condolence as, kind, funny and the life of the party. She didn care if you were not popular or different; she treated everyone the same. She had a way of bringing out the best in people and made you feel like you were important. Nan also loved her poodles Molly, Peaches and Baby, of which Baby was acquired while at college because of how much she missed Molly. She had a huge heart and she was kind and loving towards all. Another friend of Nans said Her smile and laughter were infectious. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she has touched. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Jack and Loraine Dowling, and Samuel Jones. Nan is survived by her parents; Jack Dowling and Carol Jones Dowling; 2 sisters: Nicole Stilwell and husband Jerame of Waxahachie, Korie Kimrey and husband Mark of Plano; niece, Sophie Stilwell and 2 nephews, Jackson Stilwell and Canon Kimrey; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Grandmother, Nanny Maxine Mair of Bonner Springs, Kansas. She is also survived by her fiancé, Michael W. Smith (Carmine).
