Obituary: Services will be at 2 p.m. in Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Joe Schultz officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park , 6969 E. Interstate 40. Bonnie was born Sept. 25, 1908, in Abernathy. She married Charles G. Dowlen in 1937. She was a homemaker and the past president of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1475 and a Charter Member of Amarillo Senior Citizens. She volunteered more than 2000 hours at the VA hospital in Amarillo. Bonnie was member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Womens UMW. Bonnie loved her friends and the staff at the Kings Manor Facility in Hereford. She moved to Hereford after the death of her husband. Bonnie had a special love for her niece Carroll and her husband Tommy for taking care of her the last few years. She was preceded in death by six siblings. Survivors include a sister, Velma Daughtry of Tucson, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends uneral & , Amarillo, TX. |

She was born 31, 1920 to Arthur Franklin Redden and Lola Canafax, in Lebanon, Oklahoma Viola married Yarbrough (Dick) Dowell Sr. on 14, 1936 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, Moody, TX She is Preceded in death by Husband, Dick Dowell; Son, Thomas Dowell; Daughter, Baby Girl; and Grandson, Clint Survivors include Son, Yarbrough Dowell, Jr., Son, Emmett Wayne Dowell, Son, William (Bill) Harvey Dowell; 8 Grandchildren, 21 Great-grandchildren and 10 Great-great-grandchildren Viola was a farmer. She farmed near Moody, Tx for 79 years from 1936-2015. She graduated from Bruceville-Eddy High School in 1936. She and Dick raised their four sons on the farm.
