Obituary: Louis Dotson Jr Sunrise: 8, 1939 Sunset: 15, 2015 Born on 8, 1939, Louis Dotson, Jr. was the 4th child of Louis Dotson, Sr. and Ethel Washington Dotson-Miller. He graduated from the Original L.C. Anderson High School in 1958. A three-year letterman in football, Louis was a standout offensive and defensive player on the 1956-1957 State Championship team. He also lettered in basketball, baseball and track. graduation, Louis attended Huston-Tillotson in Austin, Texas. During his time there, he learned of a new company coming to town named IBM and immediately applied for a position. In 1967, he was hired as a Machinist and seven years later became IBM Austins first African American Manager (1971). His love for sports and competiveness never wavered. Louis played and coached many athletic activities at IBM. He was a recipient of numerous Tom Watson Trophies (a special IBM Sports Award) and accumulated the most awards in golf and tennis. An avid golfer, he was a long time member of the Capital City Golf Association and participated in many local and statewide tournaments. He was able to successfully master seven holes-in-one throughout the years. He also loved to take his boat out to the lake and fish. On any given you could find Louis on either the golf course or fishing for croppy and catfish. 25 years at IBM, Louis decided to retire and move on to bigger and better things. two years of retirement, he went to work for Applied Materials and worked there until he became ill. Louis was a fighter; he overcame difficulty after difficulty with strong determination for more than 15 years. a long hard fought battle, he found rest and peace in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on , 15, 2015. Louis was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to celebrate and cherish his life with wife Elijah Dotson, children Terri McClain, Felicia Overton (Darrell), Michael Dotson, Terrence Gregg, Sonya Dotson, Marvin Dotson, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. |

Obituary: Lillie Caroline Dotson of Seguin, TX passed away peacefully on 7, 2015 at the age of 100 years and 10 months at Nesbit . She was born 1, 1914. She is preceded in death by husband Henry Gordon Dotson, Sr.; daughters Little Mary Dotson, Geraldine Dotson Reneau, son, Leslie Clay Dotson and wife Jan, and son-in-law Clarence Jahnsen. She is survived by her daughter Barbara and husband Ernest Neumann, Sr., daughter Twixie and husband Wayne Krueger, daughter Lillian and husband William (Squecky) Barganier, daughter Betty Jahnsen, son-in-law Elmer Ray Reneau, son Jimmy and wife Charlotte Dotson, son Henry Junior Dotson, Jr., and wife Judy. She has one surviving sister, Elaine Dotson. She had a large and loving family of 9 children, 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren. Her love of flowers and her vegetable gardening kept her busy. She won Yard of the Month for all her beautiful flowers and roses. She often had people stop by to adore her garden and flowers and would gladly give them vegetables out of her garden and not take money. She would often find flowers and plants on her porch for her kindness and their appreciation to replenish her garden. She was loved by all. She had a loving and kind heart to all who knew her. A special thank you goes out to Nesbit and all the great and loving nurses who cared for our mom, grandmom and great grandmom, as well as the caregivers from Hospice of Guadalupe Regional Medical . did such a great job of loving and caring for her. You all are truly appreciated. She will be missed by all who came in contact with her. To her special friend and roommate, Mrs. Hosley, she loved you dearly and all others who came to visit with her. Visitation will be held on , 9, 2015 from 5 to 7 at Goetz Memorial Chapel at 713 N. Austin Street, Seguin, TX. Services will be at 10 a.m. at Goetz Memorial Chapel on , 10, 2015 with interment to follow at San Geronimo , Walnut Street, Seguin, TX. |
