Obituary: Billye Gem Dever, born 10, 1929 at home on the farm outside of Wilson, Texas. She passed away at the age of 85 on 29, 2014 at Legend Oaks in Kyle, Texas. Billye owned and operated the B-Gem Laundromat for 20 years. The Laundromat was located on South Lakeshore Drive in Austin, Texas. Billye had a wash and fold services as well as a coin operated laundry. B-Gem wash and fold was used by movie productions that came to town as well as the Dallas Cowboys when in town for spring practice. Billye was one of 18 children born to Thomas and Ella Moore of Wilson, Texas. Billye is preceded in death by her son, Larry Rondle Dever and 13 of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Sonya and her husband Billy Dekle of Austin, Texas and son, Kevin Dever of Buda, Texas, and by 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Billye is survived by her sisters, Tomi Wilella Parham of Gladewater, Texas; Mary Orthor Savage of Lubbock, Texas; and brothers, Clarence F. Moore of Kerrville, Texas and Harold Ray Moore of Sunray, Texas. |

Obituary: Leland Bryant Van Deventer was born 10, 1920 and died May 22, 2013. Leland is survived by his daughter, Ruth Porter and son-in-law Walt Porter. Step daughters, Sheral Sly and Linda Kisner, along with their husbands, Dan and Toni. He has seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. he was born in Los Angeles, California 10, 1920. He graduated from a Los Angeles high school and Jr. . He was a veteran from WWII. He raised his family in the city of Torrance, California. He as a tool and dye maker for North American Aviation. He was proud of the fact he made a major support beam for the space shuttle. Most of his life he attended Inglewood Assembly of God in California. He loved the Lord and took his family faithfully to church every . We never missed church even when we went camping. He got saved during WWII when he walked into a small Assembly of God church in Texas. It was at this point that he found the Lord and served the Lord from that point on. He was an active member of the American Legend, the Fullerton branch. He was active in the Fullerton and Ft. Worth groups. He was proud of the fact that he served in the military during WWII. His passions were magic, fishing, photography, camping and all around fix it man. He also loved to do some small carpentry work. He made just about anything you needed made, from a cabinet to a magic trick. He was president of the Orange Magic Club. He made Magician of the Year for the Fort Worth Magic Club. He loved to perform for different church groups. He was a loving husband, awesome dad, and grand dad. He loved his grandchildren Rhonda, Kimberlee, Sean, Ryan, Kelly, Bethany, Brook, along with his great grandchildren Jessica, Victoria, Ricky, Stephen, and Ethan. He out lived two wives, Myrtle Van Deventer and Van Deventer. He was always thinking of others even when he laid dying. He told his daughter Ruth to buy Terri a six pack of Dr. Pepper because he know she loved Dr. Pepper. He also told Ruth to tell the little girls across the street the he was sorry he would not be able to put on a Magic Show that he had promised them, but he knew they would understand. Everywhere Leland went he would have a magic trick in his pocket and would entertain anyone who wanted to see one, even to one of the ushers at church. Everyone who met him, thought of him as an extra sweet man, and indeed he was. |
