Obituary: Larry Phillip Deslatte, age 76, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on , May 4, 2021 at home with his family by his side. He was born on , 13, 1944, in Ponchatoula, LA to Rita Deslatte and Phillip Deslatte. Larry who was also known as Moose to his military family and Hook to anyone who knew him in high school, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and the rock of our family. He was affectionately known as Pawpaw and Opa to his grand/great grandchildren, whom he adored. He was a kindhearted man with an infectious smile. He will always be remembered as a caring teacher, mentor and friend. Larry is survived by his affectionate and loving daughter, Priscilla Deslatte-Sierra, his son-in-law Albert Sierra, daughter-in-law Samantha Deslatte – Youngren; siblings, Mary Hebert (Tommy), Paul Deslatte (Katherine), and Judy Wright (Jack); his grandchildren, Kori Walters, Zachary Hall, Noah Deslatte, Makenna Deslatte and Conner Deslatte, his step grandchildren, Brayden Youngren, Yvette Gallego, Mike Sierra, and Cristian Gallego, his great grandchildren, Carson Walters, Payton Hall, Charlotte Deslatte, Ana Deslatte and Elenor Deslatte, his step great grandchildren, Liam Gallego, Emmalyn Sierra, Rylan Gherke and Raegan Gherke, also many nieces, nephews and close friends. Larry was preceded in death by his adoring wife Amparo Deslatte, his parents, Rita Deslatte and Philip Deslatte, his beloved son, Timothy Deslatte, and his beloved daughter, Susana Deslatte. A visitation for Larry will be held on , May 14, 2021, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Harry McKneely & Son , 100 W. Magnolia St. Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454. Obituary: Joyce Muriel Rayburn Deslatte, 81, of Lufkin, Texas, passed away , 22, 2010, at Lufkin Memorial Hospital, Lufkin, Texas. Mrs. Deslatte was born 13, 1928, to Jesse and Lucille Rayburn in Beaumont, Texas. She spent her youth in Fannett where she graduated as valedictorian of her class. Mrs. Deslatte married Louis J. Deslatte on 25, 1977. Mrs. Deslatte spent her later years in the Nederland area where she retired from Texaco Refinery in 1983. Mrs. Deslatte was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harold Rayburn; a son Gerald Dwaine Labby and an infant son, James Royce Labby. Mrs. Deslatte is survived by her husband, Louis J. Deslatte; a son Curtis Gene Labby and wife Martina; step sons, Michael Deslatte and wife Julia and Thomas Deslatte and wife Kristy; brothers, Bill Rayburn and wife Patty and V.R. Rayburn and wife Sara; a sister, Marcelene Degeyter and husband Earl; grandchildren, Jason Labby, Jeremy Deslatte, Amanda Deslatte and Rebekah Deslatte; a great grandchild, Lorelai Deslatte and numerous nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Scott Rayburn, Steven Rayburn, Kyle Rayburn, Bob Weeks, Jay Weeks, Jeremy Deslatte and Tyler Rayburn.
