Obituary: ARLINGTON -- Mary Alice DeFoe passed away at a hospital in Plano on , Jan. 28, 2012. : 1 p.m. at Shannon Rose Hill Chapel. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill . Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. . Memorials: Mary loved flowers; all the colors were something she really enjoyed. However, she did have a favorite charity -- childcareworld.org -- for those who would prefer a gift. Mary was born to Emma May Larson and Lesley Newton on Nov. 28, 1925, in Little Rock, Ark. As an infant and young girl she traveled extensively throughout the United States as well as some foreign countries, namely Cuba (her favorite), to support her fathers job. She, her young sister Emma Louise and her mother settled in Norwalk, Calif., with Marys grandmother, and thats where she lived until she married and gave birth to three baby girls. She moved to a suburb of Los Angeles to raise her girls. Later on in her life, she moved to Laguna Niguel, one of the most beautiful beach areas of California. There she met the love of her life, Frank DeFoe. married and should have lived happily ever after, but Frank became ill and died. Later her granddaughter, Lue Kraltchev, went with her husband, Nicholay, to visit. Thats when the big move happened. The two packed up Marys belongings and moved her lock, stock and barrel to Texas. She grew to love Texas and in her last years, she seemed to be happy and content. She had a close relationship with God, which carried her through the bad times as well as the good. Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Emma Louise; father, Lesley; mother, Emma May; daughter, Diane Carol; and beloved husband, Frank. Survivors: Daughters, Linda Loraine Potts and Joan Lee Roper; Marys grandchildren, Lisa Louise and husband, James, Laurie "Lue" Ann and husband, Nickolay, James Edward and wife, Sylvia, and Tina Marie; great-grandchildren, Erin Christen and husband, Andres, Kaytlin Oliva, Tailynn Rose, Nicholas, DJ and Haley; and son-in-law, Gerald "Jerry." under the direction of Shannon Rose Hill Chapel & , Fort Worth, TX. |

Obituary: services for Effie Lavelle DeFevers, 78, of Harker Heights will be at 10 am at Crawford-Bowers in Killeen with Rev Eric Hammer officiating. Burial for Mrs. DeFevers will follow at Pleasant Hill in Nolanville, Texas. Mrs. DeFevers was born Oct. 19, 1932 to Elmer and Alma Wheet in Tracy, KY. and passed away on 12, 2011 in Round Rock, Texas. She was reared and educated in Kentucky and had been a home maker all her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. Survivors include her husband John Thomas DeFevers, Sr. of Harker Heights, a son John Thomas DeFevers , Jr. and wife Carmen of Moore, OK, daughters Alice F. Anderson of Nolanville, Vivian Leahy and husband Dennis of Kansas City, MO and Brenda Michelle DeFevers of Harker Heights, two special men John Fowler of Austin and Hugh Anderson of Harker Heights. Other survivors include her sisters Beatrice Berry of Louisville, KY, Juanita Richardson of Louisville, KY, Barbara Janes of Edinburgh, IN and Patricia Houchens of Bowling Green, KY, two granddaughters, one grandson and one great granddaughter.
