Obituary: Sue Ellen Day age 64 passed away unexpectedly on 29, 2014 with family by her side. Sue was born on 5, 1950 in Houston Texas to Beverly and Robert Sullivan. Sue has been a lifelong resident of Houston. In 1968 Sue graduated from South Houston High school. While attending University of Houston Sue majored in Dramatic Arts. she graduated college Sue served as an executive assistant to a Municipal Judge. For 20 years Sue was an active member of Cypress Creek Christian Church. She served as a Stevens minister and leader and was an active member of West Houston Church of Christ for the last 6 years. Sue had a great love for travel and shared that passion with many of her friends and family as she traveled around the world. The lives of many were touched around the world by Sues love and friendship as Sue never met a stranger. As Sue traveled the world she encouraged those she met with her life story and was encourage by their own. When Sue returned from her travels she always had stories of the amazing people she met and lifelong friendships that were created. Another one of Sues greatest joys was hosting family gatherings and giving to others. She was always opening her home to friends and family. Sue was proceeded in death by her Father Robert L Sullivan and Brother Robert F Sullivan. Sue is survived by her husband of 30 years, William Day, and step children, Michael Day, Michel Day and Sherri-Lynne Day and grandchildren; Sister Deborah Wedding and husband Joseph, Sister Cecile LeBlanc and husband Kevin. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held on 3rd, 2015 at 11:00am in the West Houston Church of Christ Chapel. Obituary: FORT WORTH -- Sarah Sally Louise Mason Day, 74, passed away , 18, 2014, after battling Parkinsons disease since 1992. Memorial service: 2 p.m. , Aug. 16, at Bethesda Community Church. Interment: Calvert Friends in Maryland. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a hospice or Parkinsons support group of your choosing. Sarah was born on Jan. 22, 1940, in Elkton, Md. She was the daughter of the late Walton and Mildred Mason. The eldest of seven children, she grew up on Woodbine farm in Calvert, Md., which has been in the family since 1735. She was a member of the Calvert Maryland Grange 424 and a Maryland State Grange Highway Safety essay winner for two years. She was a Maryland 4-H All-Star in 1956, winner of the 4-H Danfort Foundation in 1957 and attended the 4-H national conference in 1958. She was a 1958 graduate of Rising Sun High School and 1960 graduate of St. Marys . She attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City and worked as a special education and kindergarten teacher. Sarah graduated from Lamar University in 1982 with a degree in nursing. She began working for Upjohn care as a home health cancer nurse providing chemotherapy. In 1986, she started Family Services Hospice and assisted with getting the Hospice Medicaid/Medicare certified. In 1992, she became the executive director for Family Hospice of Fort Worth and then was promoted to director of education over 20 field offices. She volunteered with the Texas New Mexico Hospice Organization for 25 years and was the Education Committee chair for 15 years. In 1998, she received the Heart of Hospice award for TNMHO, and she was chosen as one of the Great 100 nurses in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for excellence in hospice nursing. She was a member of the Nurses Education Committee, a member of NOEP, and a grief facilitator for the American Cancer Society Life after Loss program. She was active in church attendance all her life, serving as deaconess, school teacher, home Bible study leader and choir member. She also assisted with cooking for Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority. She was chosen by her sorority chapter for the Delta Star Award for her outstanding volunteerism. She served as secretary and treasurer for the Transitional Outreach Ministries, a non-profit organization serving those in need. Her hobbies included gardening, crafts and cooking. The family would like to provide a special thanks to Sallys caregivers, Carols Hicks, Margie Martinez, Lori Zand and Zina Carson. She was preceded in death by her youngest sister, Elizabeth Ann Mason; and granddaughter, Riley Dennis. She was the daughter of the late Ruth (Reid) and Oscar Parker. Interment will follow in the Dunk Havard . Mrs. Day was born 27, 1949 in Woodville, Texas and passed away 18, 2015 at her residence. She was employed at Texas Department of Corrections as a food service supervisor. She was a caring, loving wife and mother and a devoted grandmother. She enjoyed road trips, the outdoors, going to the deer lease and all the animals. She loved to go crabbing and was ready to go again. Mrs. Day enjoyed stopping at her favorite friends home and drinking her favorite cold beverage every day after work. Survivors include her husband, James Day of Zavalla; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberley Blake and Pete Ponder of Zavalla; sons and daughter-in-law, Darryl Day and Tracy of Lufkin and Eric Day of Zavalla; sister and brother-in-law, Ruby Jones and Molee of Zavalla; brother and sister-in-law, Curtis Parker and Alfreda of Corrigan; six grandchildren, Stormie, Delaney, Jacob, Logan, Dillon and Sierra; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, I. V. Morris; sisters, Daisy Fails, Mayreen Dykes, and Mary Greer; and brother, Tommie Parker. Pallbearers will be Darryl Day, Adrian Windham, Troy Day, DeWayne Greer, Buddy Windsor and Jessie Reppond. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Keely, Logan Keely, Dillon Keely, Eric Day, Ervin Emerson, Rayford Cryer, Molee Jones, Dewey Windham and Joey Courtney. Obituary: Ruby Karr Day, 97, of Baytown, passed away on , 25, 2014, in a local hospital. She was born 12, 1916, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to Hubert Thomas Karr and Ida Mattie Forbes Karr. Ruby was a realtor in Harlingen, Texas, for over forty years. She was a faithful member of First Methodist Church in Harlingen, volunteered with the Harlingen Historical Museum and was a member of the PTO. Ruby was a strong, independent woman who never met a stranger. Ruby will be remembered for her positive spirit, which influenced many in her life. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Ida Karr; her husband, Paul Andrew Day; six brothers and one sister.
