Obituary: In Memory of Nannette Rebecca Davis 7, 1932 - 19, 2017 Nannette (Nan) Rebecca Davis, 84, of Kingwood, Texas went home to be with her Heavenly Father on , 19, 2017. Visitation will be held at Frank Wilson in Odessa on , 21st from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on , 22nd at Chapel Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Law officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m. Nan had lived in Kingwood for the past 10 years, after previously living in Odessa for 6 years and in Kermit for 44 years. Nan was one of 13 children and was the daughter of Tom and Nannie Oliver. She was born on 7, 1932 in Kilgore, Texas, and married the love of her life and soul mate, George Calvin Davis, on 9, 1950, in Seymour, Texas. were married for over 54 years before George passed away on 9, 2005 while living in Odessa. Nan was a true entrepreneur having owned a Day and Kindergarten, a Beauty Shop, and in the latter part of her career, she enjoyed working as a Real Estate Broker for several years before retiring in 1997. Nan was a charter member of Belvue Baptist Church in Kermit, and after moving to Odessa, Nan and George joined Chapel Hill Baptist Church. Most recently, Nan was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Kingwood. Nan (Nana) was very wise and witty and could carry on a conversation with anyone. She was a great role model and was dearly loved by her family and all who came in touch with her. Her life centered around her family and the church. She truly loved going to Bible study at her church. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren especially loved spending time with Nana. She was a great storyteller and enjoyed nothing more than entertaining the family with her innumerable sayings and poems she learned as a child. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who had the opportunity to be a part of her life. We will all miss her wonderful meals and fellowship with the family. Nans family has the utmost love, admiration and respect for her and she leaves them with many fond memories and a legacy that will never be forgotten. Nan is survived by four children: Randy Davis and wife, Marsha, of The Woodlands; Debbie Goertz and husband, Mike, of Huntsville; Becky Porter and husband, Joey, of Kingwood; and Jeff Davis and wife, Chris, of Midland. Nan is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Nannie Oliver, as well as 12 siblings. Also, she is predeceased by one granddaughter, Melissa Lee Davis. Nan leaves behind 13 grandchildren: Michael Goertz Jr. and wife, Kim, of Kingwood; Michelle Eby and husband, Sam, of Kingwood; Melanie Saunders and husband, Matt, of Houston; Jonathan Goertz and wife, Rhonda, of Kingwood; Ryan ORear and wife, Becca, of Odessa; Laura Werner and husband, Blake, of Houston; Holly Brannon and husband, Robert, of Bakersfield, California; Brittney Forsythe of Kingwood; Clayton ORear and wife, Jeren, of Andrews; Kaegan Davis, of Lubbock; McLane Davis, of Midland; Joey Porter Jr. and wife, Cassie, of Lubbock; and Emily Porter, of Austin. Also surviving Nan are 19 great grandchildren.
