Obituary: Hugh C. Davis went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on , 25, 2013. He passed away peacefully in his familys presence in Fort Worth. Hugh was born , May 4, 1927 in Forney, TX to James and Leona (Wiser) Davis. He married Joyce Pilkinton on 29, 1950. He surrendered his life to the ministry in his early 20s and pastored his first church in Wolfe City, TX. Shortly thereafter, God called him to move to Pottsboro to pastor Georgetown Baptist Church where he remained for over 35 years before his retirement. He loved his church and his ministry was his life. He was blessed to have many talents that he used throughout his many years at Georgetown. He was a carpenter before he was called to the ministry, and with a group of church members, physically built much of the Georgetown Baptist Church buildings as the church grew under his pastorship. He was a wonderful husband and father. He was blessed with two children, Philip and Susan. Later in life, he had three grandchildren whom he adored. He gave his life to his family and will be greatly missed. He did much in a way with little; he could fix any car or household problem. He effectively wore rose-colored glasses; there was little in life that he considered a problem. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Joyce on 9, 2006; brothers Roy Davis, Gordon Davis, James Davis, Kenneth Davis and sister Lois Nash. He is survived by his son Phil Davis & wife Gayla Davis of Corinth, TX; daughter Susan Davis & husband Brent Clark of Fort Worth, TX; brother Horace Davis of Garland, TX; sister Ione Stroble of Rockwall, TX; three grandchildren, Christopher Clark, Sarah Clark and Meghan Clark and numerous nieces and nephews. In the last couple of months before he died, he spoke of how glorious heaven would be. He is in the presence of his Lord. Visitation will be 7:00PM to 8:30PM, , 28, 2013 at Bratcher in Denison. services to celebrate his life will be 2:00PM, , 29, 2013 at Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro with Rev. Bobby Hancock officiating and burial to follow at Georgetown . |

Obituary: On 18, 2015 at 1:37 in the morning, GOD wrapped his arms around a special angel, gave him his golden wings and took him home. Mr. Huey Davis, son of Leroy and Evelyne Davis, was born in Bastrop , Texas on 8, 1933. Huey grew up and attended public school in Bastrop, Texas and at an early age united with Cottonwood Baptist Church in Garfield, Texas. Later he worked at Armstrong McCall for over 50 years and never missed a day of work. Huey was preceded in death by his father, Leroy; mother, Evelyne; wife, Margaret; son, Terry Lee Davis; and grandsons, Derrick and Melvin Hughes. He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Alta Crayton-Willard, Brenda Evans-Maurice and Regina Davis-Darby; three sons, Charles Anderson and wife Lorrain, Larry Davis and wife Venesa, and Marshall Davis, all of Austin, Texas; sisters, Gracie Mae Davis, Shirley McArthur, and Lillie Neal; brothers, Leroy Jr., Willie, Lorenzo and wife JoAnn, and Gene Davis, all of Austin, Texas; 26 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. John McCall and wife Amy and Mary Jo Goertz and husband Kenny were very special people in his life. Huey was blessed to see six generations of Davises and he was loved and cherished by everyone whose path he crossed. Services to celebrate Hueys life will be held at 1:00 pm on , 27, 2015 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville, Texas. The family will greet guests the hour prior to services and committal services will follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks .
