Obituary: Donald Gene Davis, passed from this world to life eternal with Jesus Christ from cancer on 27, 2014. Don was the oldest child of the family of Denver Bruce and Opal B. Davis, sisters Patsy Jo Siler (John), Starlet Jean Mullins (Ace A), bother Vernon Ray Davis (Lisa). Preceded in death Denver Bruce Davis, Opal B. Davis, sisters Mary Lou Cantrell (Bob), Vicky Kay Mullins, Doris Ann Davis and son Bruce Alan Davis.
Don leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Rhae Joan C., two sons Donald Ray (Barbara Ann), Michael Anthony (Sally), grandson Joshua James Davis (Janis), granddaughter Beverly Jene, great-grandchildren Grace, Gavin, Liam, step-grandson Travis WalkingStick (Laura) Kylee, Ryan, ten nieces and nephews, also three special in-law families.
Don served 24 years in the Air Force, with first assignment being MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida where he and Joan met and were married. Their three boys were born there before they started their travels with the Air Force. Another special assignment was Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico where he accepted Jesus as his savior. He was a two time recipient of The Air Force Commendation Medal and The Meritorious Service Medal. He was also named Traffic Manager of the year for the Air Force. Don also served two terms as president of the Houston Chapter of the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) while working for the Department of Defense here at Ellington before retiring.
He was a member of University Baptist Church, Clear Lake. At different churches he taught School to sixth grade boys from a Boys which he always said was a challenge but very rewarding when he experienced the difference in their lives learning about Jesus. Don also served on church finance and budget committees at other places we lived.
Last but not least Don was an avid sports fan both on the side line and on the basketball court playing for his squadron and church leagues. He was a special husband, father, grandfather, papa, and papa #2 who was loved very much and will be missed greatly. We are very thankful and comforted knowing he is in the presence of Jesus Christ, son Bruce and other loved ones, where there is no more suffering and sickness now and forever.

Obituary: DONALD W. DAVIS, age 88, passed away , 12, 2010. He was born on 15, 1921 in Curranville, Kansas. Don was the last of 6 children born to Henry J. and Jessie Thomas Davis. He proudly served his country during WWII in the South Pacific with PI boats. Don married Beth Raines on 10, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee. For 38 years he was employed for Sears Roebuck and was mainly at the Wayside store in Houston, TX. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing and the times spent with his dogs.

He is survived by his wife, Beth Davis; daughter, Elizabeth A. Guerrero and husband George; grandchildren, Dianne Cornish and husband Jason, Donald Guerrero and wife Danyale, Michael Guerrero, Jennifer Hoover and husband Nick, Martha Guerrero, Benjamin Guerrero and wife Nicole, Linnie Belle Guerrero and Elsie Guerrero; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Collin, Jordan, Ruby, Mia, Cassidy, Jerry, Lili, and Kaitlyn; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.

Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., , 17, 2010 at Earthman Bellaire , 6700 Ferris. A Memorial Service honoring Don will be held at 1:00 p.m., , 18, 2010 in the chapel of Grace Presbyterian Church, 10221 Ella Lee Lane, Houston, TX.

Obituary: Donald Edward Davis, 49, of Canyon Lake, Texas, passed away on 30, 2002, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. On 19, 2002, Don went into cardiac arrest, which left him in a coma until his death. Don had many health problems and many surgeries since 1991, when it was discovered that Don had a disease, Focal Glomerulo Sclerosis, which attacks and destroys the kidneys. He began dialysis treatments in 1995 and then received a kidney transplant on 2, 1998. The disease attacked the new kidney and Don began dialysis treatments again in , 2002. Don was born May 5, 1953, in St. MaryÂs Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, to Helen M. Ricketts Davis and Lester L. Davis, Sr. In 1957, the family moved from Mt. Vernon, Indiana, to Indiana, Pennsylvania, where they resided for four years. A final move for the family was made in 1961 to Wooster, Ohio. Don graduated from Wooster High School in 1971 and in his senior year, was an Advanced Placement Student at the of Wooster. He was a member of the De Molay Organization for young men sponsored by the Ebenezer Masonic Temple and served as Master Councilor at the age of 16 years. Don also served as radio announcer and disc jockey at SPCO, Mt. Vernon, Indiana 1969-70 during the summer. Don received a B.A. Degree in Politcal Science from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas in 1974, where he was elected to President of the Student Body. He was actively involved in the Democratic Party and local, state and national elections while attending Trinity University. He served as a Teaching/Research Assistant in the Department of Sociology at Trinity University 1975-1976. Don received an M.A. in Sociology from Trinity University 1976. The title of his MasterÂs Thesis was ÂDrug Use in the San Antonio Independent School District: Grades 6 Â- 12Â. Through his dedicated work with organizations against drug abuse, Don received many awards and recognition. In 1976-1977, he was a full-time lecturer in Sociology at San Antonio . Don joined the full-time faculty of the Department of Sociology at St. MaryÂs University in , 1977, completing 25 years in , 2002. He was also a senior faculty member in St. MaryÂs UniversityÂs Upward Bound Program since 1977, completing 25 years in 2002. In 1979, Don was selcted as an ÂOutstanding Young Man of America by the United States Jaycees. Don served as Vice-President of the Faculty Senate in 1980-81 and President of the Faculty Senate in 1981-82 and Co-founded the St. MaryÂs University Campus unit of Circle K 1982-1985. For 10 years, Don served as Chairperson of the Department of Sociology between 1981 and 1991. Don was a Mentor for the Christian Life Community in the Campus Ministry Program at St. MaryÂs University for 5 years. Even though he was ill and teaching full-time, Don was working toward the professional degree of M.S.W. Master of Social Work at North Texas State University at Denton, Texas and at Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio. Don was an Associate Professor of Sociology at St. MaryÂs with Special expertise in the areas of family, deviance, social psychology and social issues. Don Davis will be deeply missed and long remembered for many things: his intense love for his family: his loyalty to friends, colleagues and students; his tireless dedication to the service of others; his personal concern and caring for each individual person; his enthusiastic, professional and inspiring teaching; and his strong commitment to the educational mission of St. MaryÂs University. Don is survived by his parents of Wooster, Ohio; a brother, Les Davis, Jr., Wooster, Ohio; 4 aunts, Edna M. Jacobs, Mt. Vernon, Indiana, Inez Eccles, Atwater, California, Reba Stansbury, Oklahoma, Faye Jackson, Oklahoma; 6 uncles, Ralph R. Ricketts, Evansville, Indiana, Wesley E. Ricketts, Norris City, Illinois, Veachel Davis, Leonard Davis and Damon Davis, all of Poteau, Oklahoma, Buddy Harris, Antlers, Oklahoma; one nephew, Cody Ford of Poca, West Virginia and numerous cousins. Deceased family members are Ed and Alma Ricketts, maternal grandparents; Clara Arms and James H. Davis, paternal grandparents. The family will receive friends evening from 6 oÂclock until 9 oÂclock at Porter Loring on McCullough.
