Obituary: Robert Bob Howard Danner died peacefully on 4, 2007, at the age of 84, in the at the Army Residence Community ARC. Bob was born on May 25, 1922, to Mamie and Sid Danner in the Emmaus Community of East Texas. Bob is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Etta Florine ÂFlo Watson Danner, brother, Vernon Danner and parents Mamie and Sid Danner. Bob graduated from New Summerfield High School in 1940 and Texas Christian University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corps CCC in the late 1940s and worked on conservation projects in Arizona. Later he worked for North American Aviation in Dallas as a production supervisor in their aircraft factory. A passion for flying led him to join the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943. completing flight training, he was assigned to the 708th Squadron, 447th Bomb Group at Rattlesden, England. He flew 35 combat missions in B-17 bombers. His B-17, the ÂLinda SueÂ, was one of the first bombers to shoot down a German Messerschmitt Me-262 jet fighter. During the 21 years that took Bob and his family halfway around the world, he received multiple recognitions including a ÂLetter of Commendation for meritorious performance from Lieutenant General Genda, Commander of Japan Air Self Defense Force. Bob retired in 1963 and settled in Ft. Worth, Texas. He worked several interesting jobs, but his desire to complete his college degree lead him to enroll in Texas Christian University. Bob received his degree in 1972. He began a second career in commercial real estate and property management. During this time he purchased 5 acres near Burleson, Texas where Bob and Flo designed and built their dream home. In the spring of 2003, failing health led Bob and Flo to move to the Army Residence Community in San Antonio, Texas. Bob is survived by daughters Linda Quebe and husband John of San Antonio, Texas; Connie Stout and husband Noel of Austin, Texas; and Marion Loyd and husband Gerald of Dumas, Arkansas; brothers Wayne Danner and wife Millie of Arlington, Texas; and Sidney Danner and wife Mary of Jacksonville, Texas; and sister Faye Thompson of Fort Worth, Texas; and, by his 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Bob is affectingly called ÂPoppy by his family. Memorials may be made to the Army Residence CommunityÂs , 7400 Crestway Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78239. |

Obituary: Nevelle Allen Danner, 91, was born 26, 1923 in Glenwood, AR and passed peacefully from this earthly life to be with our Lord 24, 2014 in Kingwood, TX. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Gene Danner; her parents, Addison Allen and Ellen Allen Brooks; brothers, Nick Allen and wife Roslyn, Olaf Allen, Eugene Allen; sister, Clarice and husband M. B. Brockman. Nevelle is survived by her daughter, Judy and husband Bob Williams; granddaughter, Danna and husband Peter Frey; great grandchildren, Taylor Greer, Christopher Frey, Elizabeth Frey; sister, Charlene Etherton and husband Gordon; sister-in-laws, Billie Allen, Cookie Allen, Lucille Danner Miller; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Nevelle graduated High School in Cotton Valley, LA in 1940 and School in Oklahoma City, OK in 1945. Gene and Nevelle were married on Oct, 16, 1943 and upon his return from WWII, they resided in Vivian, LA where he began work in the Petroleum Industry. In 1949, he was transferred to Levelland, TX, where Nevelle practiced nursing as a Registered Nurse for 15 years and taught at South Plains Jr for 10 years. also lived in Ulysses, KS, Cairo Egypt, Denver, CO, Sweeny, TX and enjoyed many summers at their mountain home in Ruidoso, NM. In 1986, after retirement, Nevelle and Gene moved to Kingwood, TX and were faithful members of First United Methodist Church, Humble. Nevelle enjoyed many years in the Believers and Doers School Class, Garden Club, and helped to organize the mature adult fellowship known as TNT. She also enjoyed cooking & baking, reading, studying the Bible, teaching, traveling and collecting antiques. Throughout her life, Nevelle was committed to caring for others, her faith in God, her love and devotion to her family and her commitment to her friends and neighbors will continue to inspire us all. Burial will be , 2, at 2:00 pm in the VA Houston National . Arrive by 1:30 pm, at the American Heritage , 10710 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, (adjacent to the cemetery).
