Obituary: Graveside services for Vider Lee Jimmy McDaniel, 88, of Killeen will be 2 p.m. at the Lawler in Florence, TX. Mrs. McDaniel passed away , 22, 2011 at a nursing home in Harker Heights. Vider Lee was born 25, 1922 in North Zulch, Texas to James C. and Jenny Lee (Reynolds) Richards. She married Edmond T. McDaniel on May 31, 1941 in Georgetown and has lived in the Killeen area since 1946. She was a dedicated wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, J. C. Richards, James Lester, Seth Richards and Earl B. Richards and by sisters, Mary Glover, Josephine DAndre, and Corene Mixon and by her husband of 69 years on 25, 2010. Mrs. Mc Daniel is survived by her son, Edmond Larry McDaniel, Sr. and his wife, Cathy Ann, and a daughter, Cathy Lynn Canova and her husband, Michael, all of Killeen; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Obituary: Truman Redus Daniel was born in Brookston, Lamar , Texas the second child of Truman Miles and Esther Daniel. serving in the 9th infantry division during WWII, where he served in 6 major campaigns in the ETO, he returned to the University of Texas in Austin where in 1949 he received a B.S. in pharmacology. From 1952 until 17th, 2012, he was a pharmacist in Midland, Texas. While serving in the military, he received the Bronze Star for Valor, the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantrymans Badge. He was most proud of the Infantrymans Badge because it was brought about by a little newsman (Big of Heart) named Ernie Pyle. He was with the ninth when we cut the Cherbourg Peninsula and captured 18,900 prisoners as well as weapons and vehicles. Ernie Pyle lobbied Congress and got the Combat Infantrymans Badge, which he proudly noted was the mark of a man. On 21, 1952 he married Vida Dorothy Campbell, they were married until her death 13, 1999. She was a wife, mother and business partner for 47 years. He is survived by a sister, Sue Albee and her husband of Albuquerque, N. M. his stepson, Gene Rutland, LTC. US Army retired of Laguna Vista, Texas, stepdaughter, Patricia Ann Vahn of Amarillo, Texas, granddaughters, Kimberly Ann Welborn of Austin, Gina Anne Dillard of Rogers AR, Paige Davis Bustoz of Amarillo, one grandson Guy Robert Rutland, seven nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins, seven great grand-children, who were his pride and joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ruth Evelyn McVay and Betty Weems and a nephew Randy Weems. He was a member of Kelview Heights Baptist Church where his soul was carefully tended and taught the word of God. From our Heavenly father he received peace which passes all understanding and was washed in the blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His greatest desire was to be like King David, a man after Gods own heart. A visitation will be held on 3, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Ellis , 801 Andrews Hwy. Graveside services will be 4, 2012 at 3:00pm at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4606 Big Springs in Midland. In lieu of flowers family request donations to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, Wounded Warriors or the ASPCA. |

Betsy was affectionately known as “Toadie” to all her family and friends, but was always “Granny” to Jennifer, her granddaughter and Madison, her great-granddaughter. Toadie was a bookkeeper for Andrew Brown Paint prior to retiring to the Cedar Creek Lake area with the love of her life, Richard “Danny” Daniel and enjoyed 66 years of marriage until his passing in 2012. were both very active in the lake community and members of several organizations, including the Cedar Creek Lakers RV Club. Preceding Toadie in death are her parents and husband. Those left to cherish her memory are her son Donny Daniel and wife, Pam; granddaughter Jennifer Baker and great-granddaughter Madison Baker. Obituary: Ruthie Cookie Daniel was born 3, 1933 in Satin, Texas and passed away 4, 2014 in Conroe, Texas. Ruthie was the youngest of three children born to Frank and Eva Broome. My Mema, she never met a stranger, she had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. My Mema enjoyed going to her weekly Bible study at the First Baptist Church of Willis, where she had been a member for over thirty years. She also enjoyed working in her yard, planting flowers and watching all of the wild birds that she fed. The greatest enjoyment in her life was spending time with her granddaughters. The girls brought so much joy and love into her life. She definitely touched so many peoples hearts. She may be gone, but will never be forgotten. Ruthie Cookie was preceded in death by her husband James Lloyd Daniel Sr.; her daughter Sandy Daniel-Calhoun and her husband Mike and their son Mike Jr. Ruthie leaves behind her son Rusty Daniel and wife Phyllis; granddaughter Shannon Williams and husband John; grandson Chris Mitchell; great-granddaughters Sadie and Morgan Williams and Mekayla Mitchell; brother Buddy Broome; sister Trudy Casey and numerous family members and friends.
