Obituary: Joyce Ellen (Hutchison) Danford, 81, of Lufkin, was born 24, 1934 in El Monte, California, the daughter of the late Flossie Irene (Gant) and Horace Hutchison. She passed away , 27, 2015, in a local nursing facility. Mrs. Danford was primarily a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for 20 years in management of supermarkets, ranging from office to assisting customers. Some of her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, and playing cards, especially Pinochle. She was of the Lutheran Faith. Survivors include her husband, David Dave Danford of Lufkin; children, Mark Danford and wife Kathy of Katy, Sean Danford and wife Sara of Okinawa, Japan, Jim Ellis of California, Cindy Clifton and husband Tommy of Millington, Tennessee, Sharon Ellis of California, and Rick Ellis of Katy; 18 grandchildren; sister, Shirley Stai of Henderson, Nevada; and brother, Art Hutchsion of California. Obituary: Martin L. Marty Daneman, 90, of Dallas, died 25, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born to the late Arthur and Fanny Daneman, 9, 1925, in Brooklyn, NY. some time in Newark, NJ growing up with his late brother Jerry, Marty graduated from Senn High School in Chicago, IL, in 1943. Upon turning 18 in 1943, Marty joined the U.S. Army, serving with the 10th Mountain Division. He saw combat as an intelligence scout in Italy with Headquarters , 2nd Battalion of the 85th Infantry Regiment. He received the Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, and Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, and the European African Middle Eastern campaign ribbon with two battle stars. Following the war, he married his high school sweetheart, Lois Miller, in 1945. Marty graduated from DePaul University in 1949. lived in the Cleveland, Ohio area for 15 years before relocating to Dallas in 1966. Marty retired in 1987 following a thirty eight year career in Sales and Sales Management with A. Stein & Co. and The Enro Shirt . Active in the National Association of the 10th Mountain Division, Marty was the founder and chairman emeritus of the Association's, Armadillo Chapter. He served as President of the Ohio Mens and Boys Apparel Association and The Southwestern Mens and Boys Apparel Club at the Dallas Apparel Mart. He was also a patron / volunteer of the Dallas Opera, and the Dallas and Plano Symphonies. Active in politics, he was state co-chair of Veterans for Dole and presidential elector from the 26th Congressional District in 1996. Both Marty and his wife Lois completed the Plano Citizens Police Academy and volunteered with the Plano Fire Department. Published in 2012, he is the author of Do Well or Die: Memoirs of a WWII Mountain Trooper. (http://amzn.to/1MLiP1V). Marty always remembered his fellow veterans in later years by organizing collections of supplies for our soldiers in battle. He was also honored along with other veterans on an Honor flight to Washington D.C. In 2013, Marty was co-recipient of the inaugural Daughters of World War II Jack Altman Humanitarian Award. The award is given to individuals who demonstrate a strong devotion to community service, compassion for his fellow man and hope for all mankind. Marty is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lois Miller Daneman; their four sons, Philip (Gay) of Garland, TX; Neal (Kathy) of San Francisco, CA; Scott (Vicky) of Dallas, TX; Michael (Susan) of Dallas, TX; and 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, as well as family and friends around the world. The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care provided by Richard and his crew at the VA Outpatient in Denton, and everyone at Vitas, especially Thi and Richard, and the wonderful ladies who cared for him. Obituary: Viktor Darrell Danelius, born 31, 1963, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away 19, 2009, in San Antonio, at the age of 46. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Margaret Judge, and Carl and Ralpha Danelius. Viktor is lovingly survived by his daughters, Bailey and Lauren Danelius; mother of his daughters, Lisa Danelius; father, Darrell Wayne Danelius; mother, Patricia Carol Danelius; sister, Vicki Gilligan; niece, Elizabeth Jennell Gilligan; and nephew, Lyle Francis Gilligan. Viktor graduated from Osseo High School in Minnesota in 1982. He proudly served his country for 6 years, first with the US Army and then transferring to the US Air Force before being honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. his military service he attended and graduated from UTSA in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in business. A seeker of adventure and a great athlete, Viktor loved to compete in triathlons, ride and race his BMX bikes, scuba dive and snow ski. He also enjoyed riding his Honda Gold Wing and was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Chapter H, Alamo City Wings. Viktor had many friends and even if he was not near them, he still took time to keep in touch with them as he did with his friends in Minnesota. He worked as a Systems Analyst with USAA for 20 years and was involved with their Vet Net, Veterans Group. Viktor was also an active member of lifehouse Church. He loved being with Lisa and their daughters as a family, taking photos, attending their daughters soccer games and cheerleading events, and traveling to Disney World.
