Obituary: Wanda Daily, a long-time resident of Austin and an avid UT Longhorn fan, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on , 25, 2014. Born in Wingate, Texas on 28, 1923, she lived a full and wonderful life for 91 years. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Roland Daily; her sisters, Chris Cason, Loreece Ashley, Faye Green, Cleo Bishop, Gertie Lloyd, and Ruth Cone; and brothers, Bill Blackwell, Goodwin Blackwell, and infant, Jack Blackwell. Wanda is survived by her children and their spouses, Mike and Lucy Daily, Greg and Maria Daily, Pam and Steve Seger; grandchildren, Tracy and Joaquin Montes, Jeff and Becky Daily, Kyle Seger and Laura Daily; and great grandson, Connor Daily, all living in Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Tommie Sikora, and numerous nieces and nephews. Wanda enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing, and was an excellent cook. She volunteered with St. Davids Womens Auxiliary for over twenty years and was a long-time member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was the heart that brought her family together to celebrate special occasions. Her eyes always lit up when she spent time with or talked about her grandchildren and great grandson. We are thankful for the many years we had with her and for her devotion to her family, strong faith, kindness to others and giving spirit. Her memory will live in our hearts forever. Her family wishes to extend special thanks to her caregiver, Rosa Campos, and the nurses and doctors who assisted in her care at Brackenridge Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wandas memory to Grace United Methodist Church, 205 E. Monroe, Austin, TX 78704, or to Alzheimers Research. services will be held at 11:00 am , 28, 2014 at the Weed-Corley-Fish South location, 2620 S. Congress Ave., with interment at Memorial Hill . |

Obituary: Rosemary Lewis Daily who was born in San Antonio, Texas on 8, 1915, passed from this life on 8, 2010, while residing at Newforest Estates Assisted Living. An adventurous spirit led Rosemary to her love of motorcycles, NASCAR races, Spurs games, and winning at Bingo. Her apartment was filled with jigsaw puzzles that she lovingly put together and shared with others. She enjoyed traveling and photography; and, loved to reminisce about the times she and her husband John toured the United States in their International Harvester and travel trailer making lifelong friendships along the way. Rosemary was predeceased by the love of her life, John L. Daily in 1967; mother, Rosa Kuehne Lewis; father, Edward Scott Lewis; brother, Edward Ted Lewis; and nephew, Bryan Lewis. She is survived by her brother, Harold Lewis Maureen of Austin; niece, Lynda Lewis of San Antonio; nephews, Edward Lewis Dee of Dallas and Harold Lewis, Jr. of Austin; numerous great nieces, nephews, and friends. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed. The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to Dr. Robert Parker, Dr. Margaret Finley, the staff at Newforest Estates Assisted Living, Vista , Axiom , All , and the Nix Hospital, especially during the last six weeks of her life. Obituary: Paul B. Daily, 86, died at his home in Austin on 10. There will be family visitation at Laurel Land , 7100 Crowley Road, from 6 to 8 p.m. on , 15. He will be buried with military honors at DFW National at 11:30 a.m., , 16. Paul was born on 29, 1928 in McClain , Oklahoma, the third of seven children of William B. and Jessie Harper Daily. His Sooner family farmed in the area, relocating to Fabens, Texas during the Dust Bowl years and later returning to Purcell, where Paul graduated from high school in 1945. He soon joined the Air Force, enlisting in the Army Air Corps at the age of 17. The Air Force broadened his horizons, fed his curious mind, provided a perfect outlet for his mechanical and technical bent, and no doubt played an important role in the development of his character. Paul loved Air Force life, and long before the end of his 28-year career had achieved the then-highest non-commissioned rank, that of Chief Master Sergeant. He reveled in his role as a bombing and navigation systems maintenance shop chief. His decorations included 2 Air Force Commendation medals, a Meritorious Service award, and the Bronze Star. Early in his career, the Air Force took Paul to Fort Worth, where he met his future wife, Evans. married in of 1952 and immediately started a family, which grew to include daughters Carol (Susie), Melinda (Mindy) and Jennifer. Life centered around work and family, with a little fishing thrown in, until Paul's retirement from the Air Force in 1974. Paul and returned permanently to their home in Edgecliff Village, and Paul went to work for Barber-Colman industrial instruments, where he remained for 15 years. During this time, Paul and bought a small parcel of land in East Texas from members of 's family, where they took great pleasure in constructing a small house, establishing an orchard, and serious vegetable gardening, with a little fishing thrown in. Paul delighted in children, and was thrilled over the years to welcome four grandchildren, Brian, Kim, Neal, and Michael. Paul is survived by his wife, , daughters Carol (Mrs. David) Manning, Melinda Walker, and Jennifer Daily; grandchildren Brian Smith, Kimberly Smith, and Neal Manning; sister Peggy Qualls and husband Ramon; and brother Maxwell Daily and wife Jean. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable donations be made in Paul's name. |
