Obituary: PATRICIA JOSEPHINE FICKER DAAB
1927-2016


Pat was born on Christmas Eve, 1927 to Hubert and Marie Ficker in St. Louis, MO. At an early age, the family moved to Houston, TX where she lived the rest of her life.
She attended Lanier Junior High School and Lamar High School. graduation, Pat worked at the Alabama Theater where she met a handsome young man who caught her eye, Carl Daab, Jr. She worked the concession stand and Carl was the head usher. married 26, 1949, and were together almost 50 years. In 1950, their first son Rodney was born, followed by Rick eight years later. She and Carl made their home in southeast Houston, until they moved to Cy-Fair in 1968.
Pat had a variety of jobs and interests; she worked at Sanitary Dairy, volunteered at Cy-Fair Hospital and owned and operated a ceramic shop named The Buttercup. She was a voracious reader. Loved spending time at their second home in Port OConnor, TX with her family. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed making her family and friends laugh.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Carl, her parents Hubert and Marie, her sister Connie and her brother Bert. She is survived by her sons, Rodney and his wife Alisha, Rick and his wife Erin. Grandchildren Steven and his partner Kimberly, Leslie, Aaron and his wife Ashley, Brittny and her husband Clay, Michael and his partner Sherri, and Courtney. Great-grandchildren Deacon, Dylan, Samantha and Brandon. Her beloved grandchildren knew her as Granny Grunt and B Pat. She is also survived her beloved dog and constant companion, Chewie.
Visitation will be held, , 11th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven , 13102 North Fwy., Houston, TX 77060. A funeral mass will be held , 12th, at 2:30 PM at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 11507 Huffmeister Rd. Interment will immediately follow at Forest Park , 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77077.
Her family would like to extend their profound thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff at North Cypress Medical and Good Shepherd Hospice, as well as her friends and long-time neighbors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The less Pet Placement League at www.hppl.org.

Obituary: On 25th, Joe Clay Brown passed away as a result of complications following open-heart surgery. Joe Clay grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and graduated from San Benito High School. Forty-three years ago he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Simpson, who now survives him. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Susan Brown; a daughter and future son-in-law, Laura Brown and Daniel k; a sister and brother-in-law, Phillis and Bill Brewer; grandsons, Joseph, Luke and Zachary Brown and future grandchildren, Andrew and Kaitlin k; sisters-in-law, Christine Fox and Patricia Simpson. Joe Clay was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Jean Brown. Upon graduation from Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1967, he entered the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Sam Houston and served a tour in Vietnam. For thirty-nine years Joe Clay practiced veterinary medicine in San Antonio. He became one of San AntonioÂs most prominent and highly respected veterinarians. He gladly mentored many aspiring veterinarians as well as fellow veterinarians. He has been known by his relatives, friends, and clients for his generosity, kindness and sense of humor. He truly was a gentle doctor. In of 2006, he accomplished his dream of establishing a state of the art veterinary hospital. OÂConnor Road Animal Hospital now serves as a tribute to him. Joe Clay belonged to the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, Bexar Veterinary Medical Association, as well as the San Antonio ExecutiveÂs Club. For the past eight years, he has been a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Besides his family, his passions were hunting, fishing, cooking and telling humorous stories. Special thanks from his family go out to the doctors and nurses at Methodist Heart Hospital for their unwavering efforts, compassion and dedication. Obituary: Calvin Richard Nelson, D.O., passed away 12, 2007. Dr. Nelson was born in Chicago, IL, 18, 1927. He attended high school in Aurora, Illinois and after a stint in the Navy during WWII, then returned for a year at Aurora . Moving to Austin, Texas, in 1947, he attended St. Edwards University and finished his pre-professional work at U.T. Austin. In 1955, after completing medical school and training in Chicago and Detroit, Dr. Nelson settled in San Antonio. He then joined his late father, C. Raymond Nelson, D.O., in practice for over 20 years prior to the late doctorÂs death. Dr. Nelson was an Admiral in the Texas Navy, worked with the Boy Scouts of America for approximately 10 years and joined LionÂs Clubs International in 1961. As an avid philatelist and served 3 terms as president of the San Antonio Philatelic Association and 2 terms as president of the Texas Philatelic Association. Later, he disposed of his stamp holdings and began to collect memorabilia of the 1893 Columbian Exposition. This led to an association with the San Antonio Antiques Club. He was preceded in death by, his grandson, Kristopher Kasper. Dr. Cal is survived by his dear friend of 40 years, companion and care-giver Patricia Johnston , daughters Karen Nelson of Grand Prairie; Lori Kasper and husband Richard of Lake Travis; son Mark Nelson; grandsons Johnathan Gillen; Michael B. Nelson and Blake Kasper and granddaughter Karly Kasper; also a brother Bruce Nelson of San Antonio. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Texas Lions Camp for Children at: P.O. Obituary: Dean Bigham Jones, M.D., 91, of San Antonio, passed away peacefully on , 5, 2003. He was born in Gatesville, Texas on 10, 1912.
Dean was a rugged, yet scholarly young man and graduated high school by age 15 and enrolled in Baylor University. He completed Baylor Medical School at age 22, and began his medical career in General Practice in Gatesville TX. and Kingsville, TX. Dean earned the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Medical Corps serving in the Western Pacific during World War II. He served as Radiotherapy resident at the University of Michigan after his military service. He was a founding partner of M&S X-Ray Associates in San Antonio, and remained a leader and innovator in the firm until his retirement in 1980.
retirement Dean served as a part-time radiologist with the VA Hospital and shared his medical expertise with the medical residents there. His peers and students regarded Dean as one of the top radiologists in the country. Throughout his long career he dedicated his personal time often sacrificing financial gain to meet the needs of his patients.
His medical honors and memberships included; The American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Bexar Medical Association, Radiology Society of North America, Fellow of the American of Radiology, and the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dean was an active golfer, hunter, fisherman, wilderness camper and licensed private aircraft pilot. He had a passion for boating and was a skilled celestial navigator, power boater and sailor of ocean-going sailboats. Dean was a member of the San Antonio Sail and Power Squadron and enjoyed operating floats during the Fiesta River Parade. When he was not working or enjoying outdoor activities with his friends and family he loved watching sporting events and was a faithful fan of his beloved Baylor Bears. Dean was dedicated to his family and his profession and was generous with all those he loved. His sense of humor, easy going nature and strong character will be cherished by all who were fortunate to be touched by his extraordinary life.
Dean was preceded in death by; his parents Willis and Maude Jones, his brothers Matt and Kermit Jones, his sister Edith C. Floyd, his first wife Rose Foster Jones, and one daughter Kaydean Jones. Dean is survived by; his loving and caring wife Irma Camarillo Jones, sons Robert S. Jones and wife Sally Travis, Reuben Todd Jones and wife Wendy McNeill, daughters Jennifer Helen Jones, Kimberly Camarillo Clark and husband Benjamin, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
