Obituary: Howard Orville Doty, 93, died on 15, 2014. A member of Gateway Baptist Church, Mr. Doty retired as Captain of the Memphis Fire Department after 34 years of service. He was also a member of the Memphis Fire Fighters Union Local 1784. His family will receive guests on from 12PM until funeral services begin at 2PM all at Memphis on Poplar Avenue. Beside his parents and siblings, Howard was also preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Marjorie White Doty. Obituary: Charlotte Doty, 87, of Doty Chapel Road, Afton, passed away evening, 11, 2015, at Takoma Regional Hospital. She was a member of Dotys Chapel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Doty was a retired medical technologist at Takoma Hospital. She was a member of Roaring Springs Demonstration Club. She was a devoted caregiver for her mother, as well as her husband. Survivors include two sisters and a brother-in-law: Mary Leming of Hilliard, Ohio and Louise and Harold Brown of Vienna, West Virginia; brother and sister-in-law: Hubert and Shelby Johnson of Greeneville; sister-in-law: Mary Ann Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Robert Powell Johnson and Martha K. Johnson and was preceded in death by her husband: Lyle Doty; two sisters: Katherine Ellenburg and Nell Woolsey; and a brother: Powell Johnson. The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm at Kiser-Rose Hill . The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am , 14, 2015 at Dotys Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Rimer officiating. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state for thirty minutes preceding the funeral service. Interment will follow in Dotys Chapel . Pallbearers will be her nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Wellington Place of Greeneville. |
