Obituary: William Crandall Davison, age 89, of Knoxville, passed away at home on , 25, 2010, after a long illness. Preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Davison Wagoner, he is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy Gilmer Davison; daughter, Debby Davison White and husband, John; son, William C. Davison, Jr. and wife, Jana; and son, David Gilmer Davison. Grandchildren include: Stacy Wagoner Cliff, Ashley Wagoner Bowers, Kendall Wagoner, Michelle White, Timothy White, Christopher White, Rebecca Davison Santel and William C. Davison, III. Great-grandchildren include Richie Cliff, Adeline Bowers, Lanie Bowers, Kaden White, Tyler Santel, Callie Santel; and many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Edgewood, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mr. Davison made his home in Knoxville in 1954 after several years in Houston, Texas. A graduate of Clark Prep School in Hanover, New Hampshire, he then attended The University of Virginia before the War and The University of Pittsburgh after the War. He was a member of Delta Phi fraternity. Serving three years in the U.S. Army during World War II, he was assigned to the 85th Signal , 85th Division in North Africa and Italy. A former manager of Anning-Johnson , Knoxville office, Mr. Davison was also a construction products sales representative and a construction estimator. He was a charter member and former president of the Knoxville Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute and served three years on the Board of Directors of C.S.I. Gulf States Region. A lover of trains, he was a former member and past president of the Old Smoky Railway Museum. He was an Elder and 50 year member at Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Other former memberships include the Downtown Knoxville Kiwanis Club, the Board of Trustees of the Bachman Memorial for Boys, and the Board of the American Red Cross, Knoxville Chapter. Mr. Davison was a devoted family man and servant of the Lord. He will be greatly missed. The family extends their appreciation to U.T. Hospice for their loving care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory should be directed to Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 4904 Asheville Highway, Knoxville, TN 37914 or U.T. Medical Hospice Service, 2270 Sutherland Avenue, Suite 101, Knoxville, TN 37919. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30 PM on , 28, 2010 at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, with a memorial service to follow. Obituary: Steven Abe Davison, 58, passed away 1, 2015, at his home in Collierville, Tennessee, after a long battle with cancer. Steve was born on 25, 1957, in Wyandotte, Michigan to Thomas and Norma Davison. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1975, and enlisted in the Army in 1976 - much of his enlistment was spent in Germany as a tow truck driver and mechanic. Upon discharge from the Army in 1979, Steve spent time in California and Texas working as a diesel mechanic. In 1983, while in Houston, Texas, Steve met and married Wendy Kennedy Davison, the love of his life for 32 years. In 1986, Steve and Wendy moved their little family from Houston, Texas, to Michigan, to spend more time with the extended Davison family, and lived in Romulus, Michigan, for 18 years. In 2005, Steve and Wendy moved to Memphis, Tennessee, to spend their remaining years with the Kennedy extended family. Steve and Wendy were blessed with two children and five grandchildren (so far). Steve was ordained a Deacon in the Community of Christ church in 1988, and spent many active years caring for members of his congregation, both in Detroit, Michigan, and Memphis, Tennessee. Steve was dearly loved by all that knew him, and was quite well known for his hugs. He was always available to anyone in need, and always willing to lend a hand for any type of handyman task. Steve had a fondness for motorcycles and fast cars. He was a member of the Honda Gold Wings chapter for several years, and attended many national conventions. He always had a car project underway in the garage that never seemed to quite get done, but he had a good time working on them. He was an avid hunter, and was happiest when spending time outdoors. Steves greatest joy was his grandchildren - he made every effort to attend school recitals, soccer practices, and special events, and could always be relied upon to assist with homework or babysit when needed. He loved his grandchildren dearly. Steve will always be remembered for his kindness, his generosity, his sense of humor, and, of course, his love of sarcasm. Steves philosophy was that life was not to be taken too seriously, there was always room for laughter and love. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas M. Davison and Norma Kirkendall; and his brother, Thomas A. Davison. Steve is survived by his spouse, Wendy Davison; daughter, Laura Davison Alberts (Russ); son, Matthew Davison (Jennifer); his brothers, Larry Davison and James Davison (Ginger); sister, Ruth Davison; sister-in-law, Beth Davison; stepmother, Betty Davison; step-sister, Sandy Gonzales (Jim); step-brothers, Don Runyan (Peggy) and David Runyan (Kim); his grandchildren, Alex, Chloe, Joseph, Olivia and Sophia; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. |
