Obituary: Edward L. Dillard 5, 1930 - 26, 2015 Six Mile - Edward Luther Dillard, 85, died from an extended illness , 26th, 2015. Born in Six Mile on 5th, 1930 to Alfred Luther and Louella Bell Dillard. He was the grandson of James Thomas Dillard who purchased the 88 acres on both sides of the Pickens/Easley road on 23rd, 1906. (Now known as Hillcrest ) The two story house still stands adjacent to Hillcrest , the home place of James T. Dillard and Grandson Edward L. Dillard. He was a 1947 graduate of Six Mile High School. Edward completed his education at Clemson University in Agricultural Science. He was District Claims Manager for National Grange Insurance and then became the Branch Manager for Siebels Bruce Insurance in Greenville. Later, he opened his own claims business, Diversified Insurance Adjusters, Inc. in Greenville. He held various offices over the years in both the South Carolina Association and the South Carolina Claims Association. He was the only claims man appointed to the original Board of Governors of the South Carolina Reinsurance Facility. He served in this position for six years. He also served on the South Carolina Joint Underwriters Association for Medical Malpractice Insurance, the South Carolina Reinsurance Facility Claims Committee, as chairman of the Greenville/Spartanburg Arbitration Committee and on the Greenville Technical Technical Board. In addition to his civilian life, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force, First Sargent with the 169th Fighter Wing (SCANG) at McEntire Air National Guard Base. He was also a veteran of the Korean War with a tour of duty in Europe. He was married to Edna Cantrell Dillard for 60 years and was a member of Six Mile Baptist Church in Six Mile, S.C. Also surviving are: two daughters and one son-in-law, Teresa Dillard Lesley (Lonnie-Deceased) of Easley and Denise Dillard Youngblood (John) of Greenville. Six grandchildren and one great grandson. Scott (Bethany and Landon) Boothe of Easley. Jeremiah (Lindsey) Boothe of Six Mile. Adam Boothe of Easley. Ashley Youngblood (Gary) Rhoden of Duncan. Stephanie Youngblood of Columbia. Sara Youngblood of Greenville. Edward was predeceased by four sisters and three brothers. Visitation will 29, 2015 from 1:30pm to 2:45pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum with Chapel Service to follow at 3:00pm in the Mausoleum Chapel. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens. He was very much loved by all of his family. He loved to farm on his land and this tradition will carry on through each generation. Obituary: Clyde Milton Dillard Easley Clyde Milton Dillard, 85, of 211 Sunset Drive, passed away , 24, 2014 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law. Born in Pickens , a son of the late Andrew Bolt and Gladys Ruth Black Dillard, Mr. Dillard retired as plant maintenance foreman with Platt-Saco Lowell and was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church where he was also an usher. Mr. Dillard was a veteran of the US Army where he served with the First Infantry Division during the Korean War. Mr. Dillard, along with his wife, delivered Meals On Wheels for many years. Surviving are his wife, Doris Ellen McCall Dillard of the home; son, Curtis Dillard and wife, Sara Jo, of Fountain Inn; a brother, Jerry Dillard of Easley; and two grandchildren, Joshua Dillard and wife, Carly, and Candace Dillard. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dillard was predeceased by a son, Randy Clyde Dillard, a daughter, Teresa Dillard Mills, three brothers, Wayman, Cleo and Paul Dillard and by a sister, Viola Edith Porter. services will be at 2:30 PM in the chapel of Robinson -Downtown. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:15 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Obituary: COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Barbara Irene Cannon Dillard, 80, will be held at 1:00 p.m. , 17, 2015, at Windsor United Methodist Church, with burial in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. , 16, 2015, at Dunbar , Devine Street Chapel. Barbara died , 12, 2015. Born in LaFayette, AL, she was a daughter of the late Albert Brewer Cannon and Nora Irene Pope Cannon. She grew up in LaFayette. Barbara was introduced to Carl Melvin Dillard on Easter , 25, 1951. were joined in holy matrimony on 7, 1952 in Knoxville, Tennessee at St. Paul United Methodist Church. During her husband’s 20 year career with the U.S. Navy, they traveled the country and raised five daughters: Sandra, Linda, Deborah, Susan, and Donna. her husband’s retirement from the Navy in 1971, Carl and Barbara made South Carolina their home. Barbara retired from the S.C. Department of and Environmental Control with 30 years of service. Since retiring, she enjoyed traveling abroad and visiting every state in the U.S. with her family. Barbara was an active member at Windsor United Methodist Church. Barbara’s family was the center of her life. She tirelessly gave her love, time and energy to her husband, girls and grandchildren. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a truly kind and loving woman who always put others first. In addition to her husband of 63 years, she is survived by her daughters, Linda Dillard Pinkston (Joseph) of Columbia, Deborah Dillard Jenerette (Bryan) of Lugoff, Susan Dillard Hamiliton (Michael) of Columbia, and Donna Dillard McElveen (Sam) of Lugoff; seven grandchildren, Joseph Robert Pinkston IV, Carl Dillard Pinkston, Allen Brewer Jenerette, Noah Paul Jenerette, Rachael Rebecca McElveen, Victoria Leigh McElveen, and Isabella Frances McElveen; brother, Ocie Lee Cannon (Betty) of Cusseta, AL; sister-in-law, Clara Cannon of Confluence, PA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Elizabeth Dillard, brothers, Robert Earl Cannon and Henry Horace Cannon, and sister, Elle Louise Cannon Butler. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Palmetto Richland for their steadfast care of Barbara during her time of need. Obituary: Pawleys Island, S.C.: Alfred Magruder Dillard, Jr., 77, died , 23, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Dillard was born in Richmond, Va. on 3, 1938, a son of the late Alfred Magruder Dillard, Sr. and Margaret Leonard Dillard. Mac was a graduate of Camden High School in 1956 and Wofford in 1965. He served in Germany with the Army from 1958 until 1961. Mac was a talented wood worker and craftsman. Among other things, he renovated a home, built beautiful furniture, and made an intricate, functioning dollhouse for his three daughters. He was known for his quick wit and his easy way of making friends. Mac was extremely proud of his three girls and his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mac was predeceased by his sister, Peggy Dillard. Surviving are: three daughters, Laura Dillard Paasch (Tim) of Glen Allen, Va., Lisa Dillard Meares (Lee) and Margaret Meg Dillard Edmunds (Tom), both of Columbia: eight grandchildren; Erin Elizabeth, Kathryn Dillard, and William Mason Paasch, Thomas Bryant, III, Margaret Briggs, and Anne Ashe Edmunds, and Walter Lee and Sallie Meriwether Meares; and the mother of his children, Joan Pittman Dillard of Camden. Private graveside services will be , 29, 2016 at All Saints Church at Pawleys Island. Officiating will be Pastor Henry M. Moody, Jr. Memorial services will be two oclock , 30, 2016, at Grace Episcopal Church in Camden, S.C. Officiating will be the Rev.
