Obituary: Janet DeLong Downs, age 51 of Lancaster, passed away , 5, 2013 at her residence. She was: a member of Lithopolis United Methodist Church, a 1979 graduate of Liberty Union High School, a school aid at Bloom Carroll School, the Awards coordinator for Fairfield Fair, Bloom Carroll Middle School PTO president , active member of Girl Scouts of America, and the 4 H Pink Passion Queens. Survived by; her husband Floyd E. Downs, sons, Noah and Caleb Downs, brothers; Carl, Dale and Jeffrey DeLong, father and mother-in-law Floyd and Judith Downs, brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Martha Downs, nieces, nephews and many, many special friends. Janet was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Doris Jean DeLong. services will be held 1:00 P.M. , 10th, 2013 at the Lithopolis United Methodist Church with Rev. Russell Tichenor officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove . Obituary: DOWNS, Harold K., age 84 of Dayton, passed away , 31, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. Harold was born in Dayton 9, 1930 to the late Howard Russell and Lela (Hatfield) Downs. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by two brothers, Gordon Downs and Clifford Downs; sisters-in-law, Gladys Downs and Frances Downs and a niece, Sharon Myers. He is survived by his brother and twin, Howard Downs of West Carrollton; sister-in-law, Gretchen Downs of Dayton and nieces and nephews, Gloria, David, Doug, Carol, Tom, Jayne and Tim. Harold attended Fairview High School and was employed for over 20 years as produce manager for Albers Grocery Store before closing under the name of Colonial. Harold continued his career by facilitating maintenance and janitorial duties for the Masonic Temple of Dayton before his retirement. Harold was a generous, kind and trusting soul who enjoyed spending time with his family and was considered a train enthusiast. Family will receive friends and loved ones from 10:00 - 11:00 AM , 6, 2015 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore , Miamisburg. services will follow at 11:00 AM also on at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor John Mittermaier. Harolds wish for cremation will be upheld by his family and his ashes entrusted to their care. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions may be made to a charitable organization of the donors choice in Harolds memory and personal condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting Harolds online memorial at www.gebhartschmidtparramore.com. |
