Obituary: Charlie DeVincent, 77 Private services were held , 2nd at Lane Family s, Canfield Chapel for Charlie DeVincent, 77 of Canfield who died early morning at his residence. Charlie was born 7, 1938 in Youngstown, a son of the late Pasquale and Celeste DeVincent and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from South High School in 1957 and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and enjoyed woodworking, making decorative lawn ornaments. Charlie was an avid reader and enjoyed going to casinos, especially Las Vegas, where he loved to play the slots and craps. He had worked at General Motors, the Tri-Level division for 32 years, retiring 1, 1997. He leaves his wife, the former Barbara Spin, whom he married 23, 1962; one daughter, Christine Paul of Niles; two grandchildren, Robert Whippo, and Jacklyn Paul; one sister, Rose LaVolpa of Boardman and a brother, Pat (Mary) DeVincent of Seattle, Washington and his very dear friends and neighbors, Arlene and Bob Kroner. Besides his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Seidler, Mary Korchnak; two brothers, Vincent DeVincent and Michael DeVincent. Obituary: Harold R. Bud Devies, age 93, of Marlboro, passed away at 10:50 a.m., , 13, 2015, at Canton Christian with his loving wife, Mary at his side. He was born 23, 1921, in Jackson Township, Ohio, to Lester G. and Sarah (Hardie) Devies and has resided in Marlboro Township since 1923. Harold was a 1939 graduate of Marlboro High School and had been employed as a plant supervisor at Columbia Gas retiring in 1983 after 43 years of service. A staff sergeant with the United States Army Air Corp, he served in Panama during World War II. He was a member of Marlboro Christian Church where he taught school for 50 years and had been a member of the Friendship class and the choir. He was a member of the American Legion Post 166 of Alliance, AARP Chapter 3932, Marlington Senior Citizens, Marlington Alumni Association, and former member of the Marlboro Volunteers. Harold had also been a bowler at the former Parkway Bowling Lanes in Alliance for more than 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Mary E. (Betty) Devies, whom he married May 31, 1946; daughters, Aleda Devies of Florida and Bonnie (Larry) Hoover of Marlboro; son, Leslee (Cathy) Devies of Petaluna, California; four grandchildren, Randy (Heather) Hoover, Sarah (Wayne) Turbyfield, Tiffany (Tim) Hughes and Tonya (Greg) Clark; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Wallace of Alliance; nephews, Bill (Carol) Umberger, Larry (Sophie) Umberger, Keith Umberger, Gene (Marilyn) Devies, Robert Devies, and Ron (Barb) Devies; great-nieces and great-nephews; and special family friend, Sarah Futterman. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; two brothers; two half-brothers; a nephew, Dennis Devies. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., , 17, 2015, at Marlboro Christian Church with Pastor Ed Harnish officiating. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., , 16, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian and the hour prior to the service at the church . Interment will be at Marlboro . Obituary: DEVGAN, Marie Vance, loving mother, wife, and daughter entered eternal life on May 28, 2015 following a life filled with family and friends, lots of great memories and a fight to the end as she battled ovarian cancer. She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Preetpaul; son Alexander (Alex), 9; daughter Louise, 8; parents, Donn and Linda Vance of Monterey, TN; Godchildren, Krista Sheneman of Oakwood, Joe Sheneman of Memphis and Victoria s of Oak Park IL; and many trusted friends. Marie was born 10, 1976 in Des Moines, Iowa. She lived in Memphis from 1988 until her graduation from Germantown High School in 1994. Marie attended Purdue University from 1994 until 2001, where she earned a Bachelors degree in Aviation Technology and a Master of Business Administration. Marie was also an Aviation Instructor at Purdue and received the first Assistantship through the department while working on her Masters degree. While at Purdue University she met Preetpaul, and they subsequently married in 2001. their wedding, they moved to Chicago, where Marie worked as a flight instructor and later at Crate & Barrel while Preetpaul successfully pursued a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University. While in Chicago, they welcomed Alex to the family. Preetpauls graduation, they moved to the Washington DC area, and Louise joined the family shortly thereafter. Marie continued to work at Crate & Barrel and then joined PAI Consulting as an Aviation Consultant to the FAA while Preetpaul began working with the Department of Defense. While at PAI, she was recognized for her significant contributions as a member of the Commercial Aviation Safety Team, which received the Collier Trophy. In 2012, they moved to Dayton, Ohio and Marie continued to work with PAI and her clients until early 2015. A Celebration of Maries Life will be held at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Oakwood, Ohio at 2:00 PM , 13. At Maries request, the service is to be lue jean casual.
