Obituary: ELIZABETH E. DESKIN, 87 YOUNGSTOWN- There will be Services at 11 a.m. at Lane Family s-Austintown Chapel for Elizabeth E. Deskin, 87, who died afternoon at Omni Manor . Betty was born 30, 1928 in Youngstown, a daughter of Michael and Regina Benning Salmen. Betty was a 1946 graduate of South High School and was a bank teller with Mahoning National Bank. Betty was a member of the former Honterus Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Youngstown Saxon Club, where she was very active and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem No. 64. She enjoyed playing bingo and also enjoyed reading. Bettys husband, William, died in 1997. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Jean Smith of Austintown and Joan (Michael) Liles of LaGrange, Kentucky; her step-children, James, Joan and Dan Deskin; her brother, Walter (Lenore) Salmen of Lancaster, OH and her grandson, and Joel Liles. Besides her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her step-son, William Deskin, Jr.; her brother, Michael Salmen and her sister, Tillie Fleece. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. prior to the Service on . Memorial contributions may be given to the Activity Department at Omni Manor , 3245 Vestal Rd., Yo., OH 44509. Obituary: Dessie Jean Deskin age 77, of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 6:28 PM on , 13, 2017, at Hospice of Miami Inpatient Unit at Upper Valley Medical in Troy surrounded by her loving family. Dessie was born 8, 1939, in Jackson, Kentucky to the late Ossie & Oma (Hensley) Combs. Dessie is survived by her children, Sherman W. & Beverly Deskin of Bradford, Ohio, Michael & Karen Deskin of Pleasant Hill, Ohio, Deborah Howard of West Carrolton, Ohio, Pam & Fred Jones of New Lebanon, Ohio, Steven & Amy Deskin of Bradford, Ohio and Vonda & Michael Kinas of Gilman, Wisconsin; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers & sister-in-law, Sam Combs of Arizona and Ossie & Juanita Combs, Jr. of Norwood, Ohio; sisters & brothers-in-law, Ethel & Lloyd Brewer of Kentucky, Margie Williams of Middletown, Ohio and Minie & Herschel Blackburn of Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dessie was also preceded in death by her husband, Sherman William Deskin on 25, 1991 whom she married 6, 1958; infant son, Benjamin Deskin; daughter, Kathy Brock; brothers, Emmit and Nickie Combs; and sister, Anna Mae Combs. Dessie was a homemaker and did housekeeping at the Ashford in Beavercreek for 11 years. Dessie enjoyed spending time with her friends at Treaty City Manor. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on , 17, 2017, at Zechar Bailey in Greenville with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Garden with a funeral luncheon following at the Lighthouse Christian in Greenville. The family will receive friends on from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. |
