Obituary: Vincent William DeLuca, Jr., age 65, passed away on 7, 2012, surrounded by his family at his home in Bath, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marjorie; along with his sons, Matthew Jason DeLuca and John Vincent DeLuca; sisters, Jane DeLuca (Bill), Karen Ripple (Dennis), and Lorraine Grieshammer (Scott); nieces and nephews, Robin Cottrill, Christine Hauser, Amy Sabatini, David Cunningham, Steven Ripple, and Natalie and Victoria Grieshammer. Vincent was born during one of the worst record winter storms in Akron, Ohio, on 25, 1947. The son of Vincent and Mary Grace DeLuca, he graduated from The University of Akrons of Business Administration with honors in 1981, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management. He held various IT positions at Goodyear for more than 23 years, most recently as Manager of the Goodyear Business Intelligence (GBI) Department, before he was forced to discontinue his working career due to declining health caused by his leukemia. While his accomplishments in helping to launch his companys data warehouse gave him a tremendous satisfaction during the span of his career, the greatest legacy he leaves is his family who will miss his guidance, wisdom and love, and his deep devotion and love for his faith and the Catholic Church. Vinces love of photography extended to numerous donations of his artwork to Akron City Hospital. The family has requested that those wishing to honor Vinces memory make a donation to the Divine Mercy Fund, and send to St. Hillarys Catholic Church, 2750 West Market Street, Fairlawn, OH 44333-4236. The family also wishes to extend its deep appreciation to Dr. Douglas Trochelman and his team at the Cooper Cancer (Akron City Hospital), Dr. Matthew Kalaycio and his team at Cleveland Clinics Taussig Cancer , along with the wonderful staff at the Cleveland Clinic who care for bone marrow patients. Mass will be held , 12, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Hillarys Catholic Church. Interment Holy Cross . One last kiss and thank you forever goes out to sister, Jane DeLuca who gave her stem cells not once, but twice, in an effort to extend his life in this world. Thank you, Jane. |
