Obituary: Rebecca Stines Dellinger, 59 of Lenoir passed away , 26, 2016 at Grace Hospital in Morganton. Mrs. Dellinger was born 29, 1957 in Carter , TN to the late David Stines and Goldene Potter Stines. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister; Carolyn McKinney and a brother; Jesse J. Stines. Mrs. Dellinger was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She worked as a CAN in home health care for many years. She was an active member of Cornerstone Covenant Church in Hudson and before she moved to this area, she was a member of Blue Ridge Mtn. Church in Elk Park. Rebecca was active in her church, loved by her family and friends, and devoted to her Lord. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Stephen McDaniel of Newland, Daughter, Miracle Dellinger of Lenoir, grandchildren; Elijah McDaniel of Knoxville, TN, Gavan and Jada McDaniel of Newland, and two brothers; Donald E. Stines and wife Evelyn and David G. Stines and wife Melissa both of Elk Park. A funeral service will be held , 1, 2016 at 11:00 am at Cornerstone Covenant Church with Reverend Freddie Stapleton and Brother Don Stines officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Mtn. Church in Elk Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family through Cornerstone Covenant Church at PO Box 488 Hudson, NC 28638. This will help the family with funeral expenses. Obituary: Paul Maurice Dellinger, Smiley, age 78, passed away on , 9, 2016. A native of Catawba , he grew up in Newton-Conover and was the sixth of nine children born to the late Oscar and Zylphia Dellinger. He is also preceded in death by four brothers, Oscar, Henry, Johnny, Charles; and one sister, Mary. He was a devout member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, serving as the President of the Carolinas International Lutheran Laymens League. He was especially proud of his military service as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corp 1955-1959, where he served in Lebanon, the Mediterranean and Turkey. At the end of his enlistment, he enrolled at Appalachian State University where he played football (#52) successfully for four years. graduation with a business degree, he worked as human resource manager in several manufacturing sites in Newton, Spruce Pine and Sparta, NC. In recent years, he pursued his hobby of making people happy with his Pauls Hotdogs vending venture at fairs, festivals and the Blue Ridge Music . When he was not working, he enjoyed dancing - line dancing, shagging and slow dancing. He served as President of several dance clubs in Hickory, Statesville, and most recently in Belmont with the Highlighters Dance Club. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Becky Burris Dellinger; sons, Jefferson Parks Dellinger and wife, Judy, of Lake Wylie, Joseph Paul Dellinger of Charlotte, David Andrew Dellinger of Pineville; step-daughters, Elizabeth Fuller Davis and husband, Steve, Katherine Fuller Huffstickler and husband, Brian; grandchildren, Matthew Dellinger, Hailey and Rainey Dellinger; step-grandchildren, Jackson and Jordan Davis, Anna and Andrew Huffstickler. He is also survived by siblings, Virginia Dellinger Abernathy of Claremont, Ellen Dellinger Rowe of Conover, Connie Dellinger-Brooks of Newland; mother-in-law, Maerell Holland Burris of Mt. Holly; sister-in-law, Debra Burris Hartness and husband, Danny, of Mt. Holly. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on , 12, 2016 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Conover with the Rev. Dennis Quackenboss, pastor of Mountainside Lutheran Church in Linville, NC, officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. Obituary: Gastonia - Paul Louis Dellinger Jr., 79, passed away 25, 2013 at Robin Johnson House. A native of Mecklenburg county, he was the son of the late Paul and Christine Dellinger. Mr. Dellinger was a United States Army veteran, a member of Unity Baptist Church in Gastonia and the National Railway Society. He was a member and former master of Holland Memorial Masonic Lodge 668. He was a graduate of Gastonia High School, attended Presbyterian and NC State University. Paul was a train enthusiast, NASCAR fan and an avid Wolfpack fan. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Dellinger; son, Chris Dellinger and wife Roxane of Lincolnton; Cheryl Bradshaw and husband Lester of Charlotte; sister, Jane Baker of Tulsa, Ok; grandchildren, Rachel Bradshaw and Jake Bradshaw; nephew, Carl Baker; and brother-in-law, David McHam. A funeral service will be held at 11am at Unity Baptist Church in Gastonia with Rev. Roger Mathis officiating. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm at Carothers in Gastonia. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Kilpatrick, Dr. Meakin and Dr. Spina for their service and dedication during his illness.
